Psalms Chapter 82
God’s chillin' with the crew of the powerful; He’s the ruler among the deities.
[A Psalm of Asaph.] God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods. {of Asaph: or, for Asaph}
For how long are y’all gonna be judging all sus and let the wicked slide? Selah.
How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.
Defend the poor and orphans: dish out justice for those in need, no cap.
Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. {Defend: Heb. Judge}
Rescue the poor and needy: pull them outta the clutches of the wicked.
Deliver the poor and needy: rid {them} out of the hand of the wicked.
They’re lost, won’t even catch on; they’re strolling in darkness: everything's messed up.
They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course. {out...: Heb. moved}
I dropped, “Y’all are deities; you’re all offspring of the Most High.”
I have said, Ye {are} gods; and all of you {are} children of the most High.
But you’re gonna kick it like regular peeps, and drop like one of the leaders.
But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.
Step up, God, judge the world: you’re about to take back all the nations.
Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.
