Psalms Chapter 80
Ayo, Shepherd of Israel, you guiding Joseph like a crew; chilling between the cherubs, shine on, fam.
[To the chief Musician upon Shoshannimeduth, A Psalm of Asaph.] Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest {between} the cherubims, shine forth. {of: or, for}
Flex your might before Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh; come save us, no cap.
Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up thy strength, and come {and} save us. {come...: Heb. come for salvation to us}
Bring us back, God, let your face glow; we’ll be vibin' saved.
Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.
Yo, Lord of hosts, how long you gonna be salty about your peeps' prayers?
O LORD God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people? {be...: Heb. smoke}
You feeding them tears like snacks, and they’re downing all the feels, fr.
Thou feedest them with the bread of tears; and givest them tears to drink in great measure.
You made us a vibe check for the homies, and our enemies are cracking up, sus.
Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbours: and our enemies laugh among themselves.
Bring us back, God of hosts, let your face shine; we’ll be saved, periodt.
Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.
You took a vine outta Egypt, kicked out the haters, and planted it, lit.
Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it.
You set the scene for it, made it take deep roots, and it’s filling the space.
Thou preparedst {room} before it, and didst cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land.
The hills are shaded by it, with branches looking like those sick cedars.
The hills were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof {were like} the goodly cedars. {goodly...: Heb. cedars of God}
It stretched its branches to the sea, and its vibes to the river.
She sent out her boughs unto the sea, and her branches unto the river.
Why’d you break its walls down, so everyone passing by is snatching it?
Why hast thou {then} broken down her hedges, so that all they which pass by the way do pluck her?
The wild boar is wrecking it, and the beasts out here are feasting, savage.
The boar out of the wood doth waste it, and the wild beast of the field doth devour it.
Come back, we’re begging you, God of hosts: peep down from heaven, check this vine;
Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine;
And the vineyard your right hand planted, the branch you made solid for yourself.
And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch {that} thou madest strong for thyself.
It’s burnt up, cut down: they’re fading 'cause of your disapproval, no cap.
{It is} burned with fire, {it is} cut down: they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.
Keep your hand on the one you got right, the son of man you made strong for yourself.
Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man {whom} thou madest strong for thyself.
We ain't bouncing back without you: revive us, and we’ll call on your name, bet.
So will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy name.
Bring us back, O Lord God of hosts, let your face shine; we’ll be saved.
Turn us again, O LORD God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.
