Psalms Chapter 59
Ayo, God, help me out from my haters and stand up for me against the ones coming for me.
[To the chief Musician, Altaschith, Michtam of David; when Saul sent, and they watched the house to kill him.] Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: defend me from them that rise up against me. {Altaschith...: or, Destroy not} {Michtam: or, A golden Psalm} {defend...: Heb. set me on high}
Get me away from those sus peeps and keep me safe from the wild ones.
Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men.
For real, they’re lurking, ready to snatch me; the strong ones are coming for me, and I didn’t even do anything, Lord.
For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul: the mighty are gathered against me; not {for} my transgression, nor {for} my sin, O LORD.
They’re gearing up for no reason: wake up and back me up, and peep this.
They run and prepare themselves without {my} fault: awake to help me, and behold. {help: Heb. meet}
So, God of the squad, the Lord of Israel, rise up and peep these non-believers: don’t go soft on the wicked. Selah.
Thou therefore, O LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen: be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah.
They come back at night: barking like dogs, patrolling the city.
They return at evening: they make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.
Check it, they’re throwing out threats: swords on their tongues; they’re like, “Who even hears us?”
Behold, they belch out with their mouth: swords {are} in their lips: for who, {say they}, doth hear?
But you, Lord, are gonna laugh at them; you’ll have all the non-believers rolling.
But thou, O LORD, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the heathen in derision.
I’m holding on for you 'cause God is my shield, no cap.
{Because of} his strength will I wait upon thee: for God {is} my defence. {defence: Heb. high place}
The God of my mercy is gonna pull through for me: God’s gonna let me see my wins over my foes.
The God of my mercy shall prevent me: God shall let me see {my desire} upon mine enemies. {enemies: Heb. observers}
Don’t wipe them out, or my crew will forget; scatter them with your strength and take them down, Lord, our guardian.
Slay them not, lest my people forget: scatter them by thy power; and bring them down, O Lord our shield.
For all the words they spit and their pride, let them trip over their own mess: for the cursing and lying they throw around.
{For} the sin of their mouth {and} the words of their lips let them even be taken in their pride: and for cursing and lying {which} they speak.
Smash them in your fury, smash them, so they don’t even exist anymore; let them know God’s running things in Jacob to the ends of the earth. Selah.
Consume {them} in wrath, consume {them}, that they {may} not {be}: and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob unto the ends of the earth. Selah.
And at night, let them roll back; let them bark like dogs and patrol the city.
And at evening let them return; {and} let them make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.
Let them wander for food and be salty if they don’t get a meal.
Let them wander up and down for meat, and grudge if they be not satisfied. {for meat: Heb. to eat} {and grudge...: or, if they be not satisfied, then they will stay all night}
But I’m gonna vibe with your strength; yeah, I’ll sing loud about your mercy in the morning: you’ve been my shield and safe place in my battles.
But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.
To you, my strength, I’ll sing: God is my protector, and the God of my mercy.
Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God {is} my defence, {and} the God of my mercy.
