Psalms Chapter 51
Ayo God, please show me some grace, like, for real, 'cause of your crazy love and all those times you’ve been solid with me. Clean up my drama, no cap.
[To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.] Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
Wash me clean from my wrongs, and make me bright from my sins, fr.
Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
I straight up admit my flaws; my sins are always on my mind, periodt.
For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin {is} ever before me.
I’ve only messed up against you, and I know this bad stuff is mad sus to you: you gotta keep it 100 when you judge, for sure.
Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done {this} evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, {and} be clear when thou judgest.
Just so you know, I came into this world with a whole lot of baggage; my mom brought me here all messed up.
Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. {conceive...: Heb. warm me}
You’re looking for the truth deep in my heart, and in those secret places, you’re ready to drop some knowledge on me.
Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden {part} thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
Clean me with that hyssop stuff, and I’ll be good as new: wash me, and I’ll be whiter than snow, no cap.
Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Let me feel the joy and happiness; the bones you broke can totally heal and vibe right.
Make me to hear joy and gladness; {that} the bones {which} thou hast broken may rejoice.
Don’t peep my sins, and wipe away all my wrongs, fr.
Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
Make me a fresh heart, God; and bring back that solid spirit in me, periodt.
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. {right: or, constant}
Don’t ghost me from your presence; keep your holy spirit right here, no cap.
Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
Restore the joy of your salvation to me; keep me vibing with your free spirit.
Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me {with thy} free spirit.
Then I’ll teach the wrongdoers your ways; and the sinners will come back to you, bet.
{Then} will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.
Rescue me from the guilt of bloodshed, God, my savior: my tongue will sing your praises loud, for real.
Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: {and} my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness. {bloodguiltiness: Heb. bloods}
Lord, open up my lips; my mouth will shout your praise, no cap.
O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.
You’re not into sacrifices; if you were, I’d bring them: you don’t vibe with burnt offerings.
For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give {it}: thou delightest not in burnt offering. {else...: or, that I should}
God’s real sacrifices are a broken spirit; a crushed and humble heart, you won’t turn away, periodt.
The sacrifices of God {are} a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
Do good for Zion, like, for real: build up those walls in Jerusalem.
Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.
Then you’ll be hyped about the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offerings: they’ll bring bulls to your altar, no cap.
Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.
