Psalms Chapter 35
Ayo, Lord, vibe with me against my haters: take 'em down those who come for me.
[{A Psalm} of David.] Plead {my cause}, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me.
Grab your shield and get set to pop off for me.
Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help.
Pull out that spear and block those who are after me: tell my soul, "I got you, fam."
Draw out also the spear, and stop {the way} against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I {am} thy salvation.
Make those who chase my soul look sus and get wrecked; let them bounce back all confused.
Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt.
Let them blow away like dust in the wind: send your angel to chase them down.
Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the LORD chase {them}.
Their path should be dark and slippery: let your angel keep coming for them.
Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the LORD persecute them. {dark...: Heb. darkness and slipperiness}
They set a trap for me without a reason, digging a pit for my soul, and that’s just savage.
For without cause have they hid for me their net {in} a pit, {which} without cause they have digged for my soul.
Let chaos hit them outta nowhere; may their own trap snag them: let them fall into their own mess.
Let destruction come upon him at unawares; and let his net that he hath hid catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall. {at...: Heb. which he knoweth not of}
My soul's gonna be lit in the Lord: I’ll be hyped about His salvation.
And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in his salvation.
All my bones are gonna shout, "Lord, who's got your rizz? You save the weak from those who are too strong, fr."
All my bones shall say, LORD, who {is} like unto thee, which deliverest the poor from him that is too strong for him, yea, the poor and the needy from him that spoileth him?
False witnesses popped up, throwing shade at me for things I didn’t even do.
False witnesses did rise up; they laid to my charge {things} that I knew not. {False...: Heb. Witnesses of wrong} {they...: Heb. they asked me}
They hit me with bad vibes for showing love, and it wrecked my soul, no cap.
They rewarded me evil for good {to} the spoiling of my soul. {spoiling: Heb. depriving}
But for real, when they were down, I was in sackcloth, fasting hard, and my prayers just bounced back at me.
But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing {was} sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom. {humbled: or, afflicted}
I acted like they were my homies, bowed down heavy, like I was mourning my mom.
I behaved myself as though {he had been} my friend {or} brother: I bowed down heavily, as one that mourneth {for his} mother. {behaved myself: Heb. walked} {as though...: Heb. as a friend, as a brother to me}
But when I was struggling, they were vibing together, the haters teamed up on me, and I had no clue; they were tearing me apart, no chill.
But in mine adversity they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together: {yea}, the abjects gathered themselves together against me, and I knew {it} not; they did tear {me}, and ceased not: {adversity: Heb. halting}
With fake friends at their parties, they were gnashing their teeth at me, super sus.
With hypocritical mockers in feasts, they gnashed upon me with their teeth.
Lord, for real, how long you gonna just watch? Save my soul from their chaos, my fave from the lions.
Lord, how long wilt thou look on? rescue my soul from their destructions, my darling from the lions. {darling: Heb. only one}
I’m gonna shout you out in the big crowd: I’ll praise you in front of everyone.
I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people. {much: Heb. strong}
Don’t let my enemies flex on me for no reason; don’t let them throw shade with their eyes, they’re just haters.
Let not them that are mine enemies wrongfully rejoice over me: {neither} let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause. {wrongfully: Heb. falsely}
They don’t bring peace; they’re plotting sneaky stuff against the chill folks in the land.
For they speak not peace: but they devise deceitful matters against {them that are} quiet in the land.
They totally came for me, like, "Aha, we see you!"
Yea, they opened their mouth wide against me, {and} said, Aha, aha, our eye hath seen {it}.
Yo, Lord, you peeped that? Don't stay quiet, fam. Don’t ghost me!
{This} thou hast seen, O LORD: keep not silence: O Lord, be not far from me.
Get hyped and wake up to my situation, my God and my Lord.
Stir up thyself, and awake to my judgment, {even} unto my cause, my God and my Lord.
Judge me, Lord, based on your vibes; don’t let them flex on me.
Judge me, O LORD my God, according to thy righteousness; and let them not rejoice over me.
Don’t let them say, "Bet, we got him," like they just swallowed me whole.
Let them not say in their hearts, Ah, so would we have it: let them not say, We have swallowed him up. {Ah...: Heb. Ah, ah, our soul}
Let them feel all kinds of embarrassed together for celebrating my struggle; may they wear that shame like a badge.
Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at mine hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonour that magnify {themselves} against me.
Let the squad that supports my cause shout and be lit; keep saying, "Lord's got us," 'cause He’s all about my wins.
Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant. {righteous...: Heb. righteousness}
My mouth will be all about your righteousness and praise, no cap, all day.
And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness {and} of thy praise all the day long.
