Psalms Chapter 2
Why are the haters so salty, and why are people bugging over silly stuff?
Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? {rage: or, tumultuously assemble} {imagine: Heb. meditate}
The rulers are all like, “We’re about to join forces against the Lord and his crew.”
The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, {saying},
Let’s break loose from their control and bounce from their vibes.
Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
The one chilling in the clouds is just cracking up: the Lord's got them all rattled.
He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
Then He’s gonna drop some wisdom on them when he’s really heated.
Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. {vex: or, trouble}
But I’ve got my king posted up on my sacred place, Zion.
Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. {set: Heb. anointed} {upon...: Heb. upon Zion, the hill of my holiness}
I’m about to spill the beans: the Lord told me, “You’re my Son; today’s your moment.”
I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou {art} my Son; this day have I begotten thee. {the decree: or, for a decree}
Just hit me up, and I’ll hook you up with the nations as your crew, and the whole globe as your domain.
Ask of me, and I shall give {thee} the heathen {for} thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth {for} thy possession.
You’ll crush them like clay jars with a heavy rod; they won’t stand a chance.
Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
So peep this, kings: get the scoop, you judges of the world.
Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
Serve the Lord with some seriousness, and vibe out with a hint of fear.
Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
Show love to the Son, or he might lose it, and you’ll be outta here. Blessed are those who believe in him, no cap.
Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish {from} the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed {are} all they that put their trust in him.
