Proverbs Chapter 7
Ayo fam, keep my words on lock and stash my rules with you.
My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.
If you follow my rules, you’ll vibe; treat my law like it’s your ultimate jam.
Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.
Wrap them around your fingers, ink them on your heart like it’s a fire playlist.
Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.
Make wisdom your sis, and understanding your ride or die, no cap.
Say unto wisdom, Thou {art} my sister; and call understanding {thy} kinswoman:
So they can steer you clear of the sus girl who throws around mad sweet talk.
That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger {which} flattereth with her words.
I peeped through the crib’s window,
For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,
And noticed some basic peeps, spotted a young dude who’s low on rizz,
And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding, {the youths: Heb. the sons}
Walking down the block by her spot; he was on his way to her crib,
Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,
At dusk, in the evening, during those dark night vibes:
In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night: {in the evening: Heb. in the evening of days}
And guess what? A chick pulled up, dressed all flashy and sly with her heart.
And, behold, there met him a woman {with} the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.
She’s loud and stubborn; her vibe is always hectic at home, fr.
(She {is} loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:
Now she’s out here in the streets, lurking at every corner, no cap.
Now {is she} without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)
So she caught him, kissed him, and with a straight face said, "What’s poppin'?"
So she caught him, and kissed him, {and} with an impudent face said unto him, {with...: Heb. she strengthened her face and said}
I got peace offerings ready; today I dropped my vows, periodt.
{I have} peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows. {I have...: Heb. Peace offerings are upon me}
So I came out to find you, been searching for your face, and here you are, lit.
Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.
I decked my bed with sick covers, carved stuff, and fine linens from Egypt, no cap.
I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved {works}, with fine linen of Egypt.
I made my bed smell fire with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon, it’s bussin'.
I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
Let’s vibe all night until morning: let’s enjoy this love, fr.
Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.
The dude ain't home; he’s on a long trip, savage.
For the goodman {is} not at home, he is gone a long journey:
He took a bag of cash with him and won’t be back until the day’s lit.
He hath taken a bag of money with him, {and} will come home at the day appointed. {with...: Heb. in his hand} {the day...: or, the new moon}
With her slick talk, she had him wrapped, her words hit differently, no cap.
With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.
Dude follows her like a sheep to a slaughter, just a fool ignoring the clues, fr.
He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks; {straightway: Heb. suddenly}
Until a dart hits him hard, like a bird flying into a trap, clueless it’s for his own good, savage.
Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it {is} for his life.
Yo, pay attention, fam, listen to what I’m saying, periodt.
Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.
Don’t let your heart get lost in her vibes, stay on the right path, no cap.
Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.
She’s taken down mad strong peeps; trust, she’s a real threat, lit.
For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong {men} have been slain by her.
Her crib is a one-way ticket to doom, leading straight to the endgame, sus.
Her house {is} the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.
