Proverbs Chapter 4
Ayo, kiddos, pay attention to your pops' wisdom and vibe with that understanding.
Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.
I’m dropping some solid gems, don’t ghost my guidelines, crew.
For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.
I was my pops' favorite, mad loved by my mom, no cap.
For I was my father's son, tender and only {beloved} in the sight of my mother.
He schooled me too, saying, "Keep my words tight, follow my guidelines, and you’ll live your best life. "
He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.
Grab hold of wisdom and understanding: don’t sleep on it; don’t bounce from my advice.
Get wisdom, get understanding: forget {it} not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.
Don’t ditch her, and she’ll always have your back: show her love, and she’ll keep you safe.
Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.
Wisdom is the main vibe; go snag that wisdom: and for real, get understanding too.
Wisdom {is} the principal thing; {therefore} get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
Lift her up, and she’ll elevate you: she’ll bring you respect when you embrace her.
Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.
She’ll set you up with a sick crown of grace: straight glory coming your way.
She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee. {a crown...: or, she shall compass thee with a crown of glory}
Listen up, my dude, and take my counsel; your life will be long and lit.
Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.
I’ve given you the wisdom vibes; I’ve steered you on the right paths, no cap.
I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.
When you step out, you won’t feel lost; when you run, you won’t stumble, fr.
When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.
Cling to that wisdom; don’t let it slip, it’s your whole vibe.
Take fast hold of instruction; let {her} not go: keep her; for she {is} thy life.
Don’t even think about rolling with the wicked, steer clear of those bad vibes.
Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil {men}.
Just dodge it, don’t even pass by, turn away and keep it moving.
Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.
They can’t chill unless they’re causing chaos; their sleep’s mad lit if they’re making others fall.
For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause {some} to fall.
They feast on wickedness and sip on violence, that’s just sus.
For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.
But the path of the righteous is like a shining light, glowing brighter until it’s peak.
But the path of the just {is} as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
The wicked are lost in darkness; they don’t even see what trips them up.
The way of the wicked {is} as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.
Yo, my dude, pay attention to my words; really tune in to what I’m saying.
My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
Don’t let that wisdom vibe outta your sight; keep it close to your heart, fr.
Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
They’re life for those who catch on and total health for your whole vibe, no cap.
For they {are} life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. {health: Heb. medicine}
Guard your heart like it’s your most cherished item; everything flows from it, periodt.
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it {are} the issues of life. {with...: Heb. above all keeping}
Ditch the shady talk and keep your lips on the straight and narrow, that’s savage.
Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee. {a froward...: Heb. frowardness of mouth and perverseness of lips}
Keep your eyes locked on the prize, and stay focused, no distractions.
Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.
Think about where you’re stepping, and make sure your path is lit.
Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. {let...: or, all thy ways shall be ordered aright}
Don’t get swayed left or right; just keep your feet away from the sus stuff.
Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.
