Proverbs Chapter 19
Being broke but real is way better than being fake and acting like a total fool, fr.
Better {is} the poor that walketh in his integrity, than {he that is} perverse in his lips, and is a fool.
If you don’t know what's up? That’s mad sus; rushing into stuff will land you in deep trouble, no cap.
Also, {that} the soul {be} without knowledge, {it is} not good; and he that hasteth with {his} feet sinneth.
A dude’s own foolishness can mess up his journey, while his heart stresses over God, periodt.
The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the LORD.
Cash brings the crew, but the broke dude? He’s got no homies around, savage.
Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbour.
Lying in court? You’re definitely gonna pay for that, and if you spit falsehoods, there’s no escaping it.
A false witness shall not be unpunished, and {he that} speaketh lies shall not escape. {unpunished: Heb. held innocent}
Everyone wants to vibe with the prince; if you’re gifting, you’re the real MVP.
Many will intreat the favour of the prince: and every man {is} a friend to him that giveth gifts. {him...: Heb. a man of gifts}
The fam of the poor dude lowkey hates him; even his friends ghost him when he tries to connect.
All the brethren of the poor do hate him: how much more do his friends go far from him? he pursueth {them with} words, {yet} they {are} wanting {to him}.
Snagging wisdom means you’re loving yourself; keeping it real with understanding? That’s the solid stuff, fr.
He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good. {wisdom: Heb. an heart}
A fake witness? Hard pass; if you’re lying, you’re gonna be left in the dust.
A false witness shall not be unpunished, and {he that} speaketh lies shall perish.
Fools don’t get to enjoy the good times; even less should a servant be calling the shots with the big dogs.
Delight is not seemly for a fool; much less for a servant to have rule over princes.
A dude who knows when to chill with his anger is flexin'; letting things slide is straight-up lit.
The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and {it is} his glory to pass over a transgression. {discretion: or, prudence}
The king's rage hits like a lion's roar, but when he's chill, it’s like dew on grass—pure vibes.
The king's wrath {is} as the roaring of a lion; but his favour {is} as dew upon the grass.
A dumb son is a major bummer for his dad; and a wife who’s always nagging? That's just a drip-drip-drip.
A foolish son {is} the calamity of his father: and the contentions of a wife {are} a continual dropping.
Dads hand down houses and cash, but a wise wife? That’s a blessing straight from God, no cap.
House and riches {are} the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife {is} from the LORD.
Being lazy puts you in a deep snooze; if you’re not grinding, you’re gonna be starving, fr.
Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.
If you stick to the rules, you’re keeping your soul safe; but ignoring them? That’s a one-way trip to trouble.
He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; {but} he that despiseth his ways shall die.
Showing love to the poor is like lending to God; trust, He’s got your back, periodt.
He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again. {that which...: or, his deed}
Discipline your kid while there’s still hope, and don’t hold back just ‘cause he’s crying—gotta do what you gotta do.
Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying. {for...: or, to his destruction: or, to cause him to die}
A dude with mad anger will face the music; if you keep bailing him out, you’ll just be doing it again.
A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment: for if thou deliver {him}, yet thou must do it again. {do: Heb. add}
Tune in and take notes, so you can be wise when you’re older, bet.
Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.
People have all these plans, but for real, it's God’s guidance that actually sticks, no cap.
{There are} many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.
A dude's vibe is shaped by his kindness; a broke guy is way better than a liar, fr.
The desire of a man {is} his kindness: and a poor man {is} better than a liar.
Respecting the Lord leads to life; if you’ve got that, you’re chillin' and dodging bad vibes.
The fear of the LORD {tendeth} to life: and {he that hath it} shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.
A lazy dude keeps his hands tucked away and won't even bring food to his mouth, sus.
A slothful {man} hideth his hand in {his} bosom, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.
Hit a hater, and the clueless will wake up; give advice to someone wise, and they'll catch on, periodt.
Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, {and} he will understand knowledge. {will beware: Heb. will be cunning}
A dude who disrespects his dad and ghosts his mom is just straight-up shameful, savage.
He that wasteth {his} father, {and} chaseth away {his} mother, {is} a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach.
Chill out, my dude, and stop vibing with stuff that pulls you away from real knowledge.
Cease, my son, to hear the instruction {that causeth} to err from the words of knowledge.
A shady witness laughs at judgment; wicked folks just gobble up the bad stuff, no cap.
An ungodly witness scorneth judgment: and the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity. {An...: Heb. A witness of Belial}
Scorners get their judgments served, and fools face the consequences, for real.
Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools.
