Proverbs Chapter 20
Wine's a total vibe wrecker, and strong drinks bring that rage energy: if you let it play you, you ain't wise, fr.
Wine {is} a mocker, strong drink {is} raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
The fear of a king hits differently, like a lion's roar: if you mess with that, you're just playing with your own soul.
The fear of a king {is} as the roaring of a lion: {whoso} provoketh him to anger sinneth {against} his own soul.
It's super chill for a dude to just vibe without drama: but every fool just can’t resist stirring things up.
{It is} an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling.
The lazy dude won’t even hit the fields 'cause it’s cold; so when harvest time rolls around, he’s out here begging, no cap.
The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; {therefore} shall he beg in harvest, and {have} nothing. {cold: or, winter}
Thoughts in a dude's heart are like deep water; but a wise guy will scoop that wisdom up, fr.
Counsel in the heart of man {is like} deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out.
Most guys flex their own goodness: but where's the real one at?
Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find? {goodness: or, bounty}
A righteous dude walks with integrity: his kids are blessed, no doubt.
The just {man} walketh in his integrity: his children {are} blessed after him.
A king on the judgment throne sees all the sus moves and just shuts it down with a glance.
A king that sitteth in the throne of judgment scattereth away all evil with his eyes.
Who can flex and say, "I got a clean heart, I’m pure from my sins?"
Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?
Different weights and measures? Both are straight-up vibe wreckers to the Lord.
Divers weights, {and} divers measures, both of them {are} alike abomination to the LORD. {Divers weights: Heb. A stone and a stone} {divers measures: Heb. an ephah and an ephah}
Even a kid’s vibe is shown through their actions, whether they're pure or just right.
Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work {be} pure, and whether {it be} right.
The Lord crafted ears to hear and eyes to see, no cap.
The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the LORD hath made even both of them.
Don’t be too into that sleep life, or you’ll end up broke; open your eyes and you’ll snag some cash.
Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, {and} thou shalt be satisfied with bread.
The buyer's like, "This is garbage," but once they dip, they flex about it.
{It is} naught, {it is} naught, saith the buyer: but when he is gone his way, then he boasteth.
There’s gold and loads of rubies, but knowledge drops are the real gems, fr.
There is gold, and a multitude of rubies: but the lips of knowledge {are} a precious jewel.
Grab the coat of someone who’s a stranger’s hype man, and get a promise from him for some unknown girl.
Take his garment that is surety {for} a stranger: and take a pledge of him for a strange woman.
Sweet lies are tempting, but later, you’ll be munching on stones, periodt.
Bread of deceit {is} sweet to a man; but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel. {deceit: Heb. lying, or, falsehood}
Every plan gets locked in with advice: strategize well before going into battle, bet.
{Every} purpose is established by counsel: and with good advice make war.
The gossip spreads secrets, so don’t roll with those who butter you up with flattery, sus.
He that goeth about {as} a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips. {flattereth: or, enticeth}
Anyone who disses their parents will see their light snuffed out in the dark.
Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness. {lamp: or, candle}
Getting an inheritance quick might seem lit initially, but it ain't blessed in the long run, no cap.
An inheritance {may be} gotten hastily at the beginning; but the end thereof shall not be blessed.
Don’t be like, “I’ll get my revenge,” just chill and let the Lord handle it, fr.
Say not thou, I will recompense evil; {but} wait on the LORD, and he shall save thee.
Different weights are sus to the Lord; a fake balance just isn’t it.
Divers weights {are} an abomination unto the LORD; and a false balance {is} not good. {a false...: Heb. balance of deceit}
A man’s steps are guided by the Lord; how’s he supposed to find his own way, though?
Man's goings {are} of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?
It’s a trap for the dude who consumes what’s holy then questions his vows, periodt.
{It is} a snare to the man {who} devoureth {that which is} holy, and after vows to make enquiry.
A wise king knows how to handle the wicked and keeps it pushing, no doubt.
A wise king scattereth the wicked, and bringeth the wheel over them.
The spirit of a man is like a candle from the Lord, shining light on what’s inside, fr.
The spirit of man {is} the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly. {candle: or, lamp}
Mercy and truth keep the king solid; his throne’s all about that mercy, for real.
Mercy and truth preserve the king: and his throne is upholden by mercy.
Young guys showcase their strength, while older dudes rock that silver hair vibe, no cap.
The glory of young men {is} their strength: and the beauty of old men {is} the gray head.
A bruise helps flush out the bad stuff; just like a solid smack cleans up the insides.
The blueness of a wound cleanseth away evil: so {do} stripes the inward parts of the belly. {cleanseth...: Heb. is a purging medicine against}
