Mark Chapter 4
So he was back at it, teaching by the shore, and a whole crew rolled up; he hopped on a boat and just relaxed in the water while everyone was vibing on the beach.
And he began again to teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so that he entered into a ship, and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land.
He dropped some serious knowledge through parables, schooling them with his lessons, no cap.
And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine,
Alright, peep this; a sower went out to scatter some seeds:
Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:
While he was tossing them, some seeds fell on the path, and the birds came and snatched them up, straight savage.
And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.
Some seeds landed on rocky ground, where the soil was thin; they sprouted quickly, but had no depth, fr.
And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:
But when the sun came out, they got fried; since they had no roots, they just withered away.
But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.
Others fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked them out, so they didn’t produce anything.
And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.
But some seeds hit good soil, and they were thriving, growing and multiplying; some produced thirty, some sixty, and some a hundred.
And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.
He told them, "If you got ears, pay attention and hear this."
And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
When he was chilling solo, the homies and the twelve were like, 'What’s up with this parable?'
And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable.
He was like, "Yo, you guys got the secret sauce of God’s kingdom, but for the outsiders, it’s just parable vibes."
And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all {these} things are done in parables:
They see but don’t really see, hear but don’t get it; like, if they did, they’d turn it around and get their sins wiped clean, no cap.
That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and {their} sins should be forgiven them.
He was like, "You don’t get this parable? How you gonna vibe with all the others then?"
And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?
The sower is out here spreading the word, fr.
The sower soweth the word.
These peeps are by the roadside, where the word lands; but when they hear it, Satan swoops in and snatches it from their hearts, savage.
And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.
Then there are those on rocky ground; they hear the word and get hyped about it instantly.
And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;
But they ain’t got roots, so they only last for a minute; when tough times hit because of the word, they bounce out.
And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended. {offended: or, stumbled, or, caused to fall into sin}
These are the ones among thorns; they catch the word, but it’s sus.
And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,
The world’s worries, the lies of riches, and those cravings choke the word, making it totally unfruitful.
And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. {lusts: or, inordinate desires}
And these are the ones on good soil; they hear the word, vibe with it, and then pop off bringing fruit—some thirty, some sixty, some a hundred.
And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive {it}, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.
He was like, "Yo, you really gonna hide a candle under a bushel or a bed? Nah, it’s gotta shine on a candlestick, fam."
And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick? {bushel: the word in the original signifieth a less measure}
Nothing's kept under wraps that won’t be revealed; secrets always come out eventually.
For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.
If you got ears, listen up, fr.
If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
He said, "Pay attention to what you hear: whatever you dish out, it’s coming back to you; those who listen will get even more."
And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.
If you got, more will be given; if you don’t, even what you had will be taken away, no cap.
For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.
He said, "The kingdom of God is like a dude tossing seeds into the ground."
And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;
Then he just chills, sleeps, and wakes up night and day, and the seeds grow without him even knowing how it happens.
And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.
The earth just does its thing; first the blade pops up, then the ear, and finally the full corn in the ear, lit.
For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.
When the fruit’s ready, he’s quick with the sickle 'cause it’s harvest time, periodt.
But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come. {brought...: or, ripe}
He asked, "What can we compare the kingdom of God to? What’s a good vibe for it?"
And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?
It's like a tiny mustard seed, right? When you plant it, it's the smallest of all seeds, no cap.
{It is} like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth:
But once it's planted, it grows wild and becomes bigger than all the herbs, with branches so lit that birds can chill in its shade.
But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.
He dropped mad parables like this, speaking the word to them, 'cause they could vibe with it.
And with many such parables spake he the word unto them, as they were able to hear {it}.
But he didn’t toss any parables when he was alone with them; he broke it all down for his squad.
But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples.
That same day, when evening hit, he was like, "Let's bounce to the other side."
And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.
After sending the crowd away, they took him just as he was in the boat, and some other little boats followed them.
And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.
Then a huge storm kicked off, and the waves were crashing into the boat, filling it up, fr.
And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
He was chilling in the back of the boat, snoozing on a pillow; they woke him up, like, "Yo, Master, you don’t care that we’re about to drown?"
And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
He woke up, called out to the wind, and told the sea, "Chill, be still." The wind stopped, and it was all calm, periodt.
And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
He asked them, "Why y’all so scared? How come you got no faith?"
And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?
They were shook, saying to each other, "What kinda dude is this? Even the wind and sea are like, 'No cap, we listen to him!'"
