Luke Chapter 12
So a whole crew of folks gathered, stacking up tight, and Jesus was like, "Yo, peep the Pharisees' game, it’s just sus fake vibes."
In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
Forreal, nothing stays low-key; everything that’s hidden is gonna come to light and be known.
For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.
What you whispered in the dark is gonna be blazed in the light; what you said in private will be called out from the rooftops.
Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.
I’m telling you, fam, don’t sweat those who can just take your body; after that, they got nothing.
And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
But let me drop some real talk: fear the One who can toss you into the afterlife; fr, you should be shook by Him.
But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
Ain’t five sparrows just two coins? And not one of them slips by God’s attention?
Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?
Even the hairs on your head are counted, so chill: you’re way more valuable than a whole flock of sparrows.
But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
Also, if you rep me in front of others, I’ll back you up before God’s angels, no cap.
Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:
But if you ghost me in front of folks, I’ll have to ghost you before God’s angels.
But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.
If anyone talks smack 'bout the Son of Man, it’s cool; but if you dis the Holy Spirit, that’s a whole different vibe, and it won’t get forgiven.
And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.
When they drag you to the synagogues and courts, don’t even stress on what to say, fam.
And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and {unto} magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:
The Holy Spirit’s got your back, dropping knowledge in that moment about what to say.
For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.
One dude in the crew was like, "Yo, Master, tell my bro to split the inheritance with me."
And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.
And Jesus was like, "Bro, who made me your judge or divider?"
And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?
He told them, "Watch for greed, fam; life ain’t just about flexing what you got."
And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
Then he dropped a story, saying, "A rich dude’s land was vibing hard, producing some serious crops."
And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
He was thinking to himself, "What am I gonna do? No room to stash my harvest."
And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
So he said, "Bet, I’ll tear down my barns and build bigger ones to hoard all my goods."
And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
And he said to his soul, "Chill, you’ve got enough stocked for years; just eat, drink, and vibe out."
And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, {and} be merry.
But God was like, "You fool, tonight your soul’s getting taken; then who’s gonna claim your stash?"
But God said unto him, {Thou} fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? {thy...: Gr. do they require thy soul}
So it’s like, if you’re stacking treasure for yourself and not repping for God, that’s sus.
So {is} he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
He told his squad, "Yo, don’t stress about your life, what you’re gonna eat, or what drip you’ll rock."
And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
Life’s way more than just grub, and your body’s way more than just fits.
The life is more than meat, and the body {is more} than raiment.
Check the ravens: they don’t plant or harvest, no storage or anything, and God’s got them fed. You’re way more fire than those birds!
Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
Which of you can boost your height just by stressing?
And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?
If you can’t even handle the small things, why worry about the rest, fr?
If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?
Look at the lilies, they don’t grind or spin; yet, I’m telling you, Solomon wasn’t dripped out like one of these.
Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
If God’s styling the grass, which is here today and gone tomorrow, how much more will He hook you up, you little faith crew?
If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more {will he clothe} you, O ye of little faith?
Don’t be trippin’ on what to eat or drink, and don’t let those doubtful vibes creep in.
And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. {neither...: or, live not in careful suspense}
All these things are what the world’s chasing after, and your Father knows you need them, periodt.
For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
But fr, go after the kingdom of God, and everything else will just roll in.
But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
No cap, don’t stress, fam; your Dad’s got your back and wants to bless you with the kingdom.
Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Sell your stuff and help others; stack treasures in the sky that won’t fade, where no thief can slip in or moth messes it up.
Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
Where your treasure is at, that’s where your heart’s gonna vibe too.
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Keep your game sharp and your lights on, fam;
Let your loins be girded about, and {your} lights burning;
And be like those peeps waiting for their boss, ready to open the door when he rolls in from the party.
And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.
Blessed are those servants who are ready when the boss shows up: I’m telling you, he’ll suit up and serve them a feast.
Blessed {are} those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.
And if he pulls up during the late shift or super late, those servants are blessed for being on point.
And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find {them} so, blessed are those servants.
Just know, if the homeowner had a clue when the thief was coming, he would’ve stayed woke and kept his pad safe.
And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.
So, be ready too: the Son of Man is showing up when you least expect it, periodt.
Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.
Then Peter was like, "Yo Lord, are you dropping this knowledge on us, or is it for everyone?"
Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all?
And the Lord was like, "So who's the real MVP, the faithful and wise steward, who I’ll make in charge of the whole crew, serving them their food on time?"
And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom {his} lord shall make ruler over his household, to give {them their} portion of meat in due season?
Blessed is that servant who’s hustling when his boss shows up.
Blessed {is} that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
Forreal, I’m telling you, he’s gonna be made ruler over everything he owns.
Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.
But if that servant thinks in his heart, "My boss is taking too long to show up," and starts wildin’ with the crew, eating and drinking, and getting lit;
But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;
The boss of that servant is gonna roll up on a day he’s not ready for, at an hour he’s not expecting, and will totally catch him off guard, giving him a spot with the non-believers.
The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for {him}, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. {cut...: or, cut him off}
And that servant who knew what his boss wanted but didn’t prepare, or do his job, is gonna face some serious consequences.
And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not {himself}, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many {stripes}.
But the one who didn’t know and still messed up is gonna face less punishment. Forreal, to whom much is given, much is expected; and if you’re trusted with a lot, they’ll want even more from you.
But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few {stripes}. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
I came to set this place on fire; and what’s good if it’s already lit?
I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?
But I’ve got a baptism to go through; and I’m feeling the pressure until it’s done!
But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished! {straitened: or, pained}
You think I’m here to bring peace? Nah fam, it’s more like a vibe check with some division.
Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:
From now on, it’s gonna be five peeps in one pad, and they’re gonna be split, like three vs two and two vs three.
For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.
Dads gonna be at odds with sons, and sons with dads; moms against daughters, and daughters against moms; mother-in-laws vs daughter-in-laws, and vice versa.
The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
He told the crowd, "When you see a cloud pop up from the west, you’re like, ‘Rain’s coming!’ and you’re not wrong."
And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is.
And when the south wind blows, you’re all like, ‘It’s gonna be hot,’ and it totally is.
And when {ye see} the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass.
Yo, you hypocrites can read the sky and the earth, but how come you can’t get what’s happening right now?
{Ye} hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?
Seriously, why can’t you even judge what’s right for yourselves?
Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?
When you’re rolling with your enemy to court, make sure you’re on your game so you don’t get tossed in jail by the judge.
When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate, {as thou art} in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison.
I’m telling you, you won’t bounce until you pay the last cent.
I tell thee, thou shalt not depart thence, till thou hast paid the very last mite.
