Luke Chapter 10
So after that, the Lord was like, "Bet, I'm sending 70 more homies out there, two by two, to every spot I’m about to hit up."
After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.
He told them, "The harvest is straight fire, but the workers? Kinda lacking. Pray to the Lord of the harvest to send more folks, fr."
Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly {is} great, but the labourers {are} few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
"Get out there: I’m sending you like lambs among wolves."
Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.
"Don’t bring no purse, no bag, no fresh kicks: and don’t be all friendly with randoms on the way."
Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.
"When you roll up to a crib, say right away, ‘Peace to this house.’"
And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace {be} to this house.
"If a chill person is there, your peace will chill with them; if not, it'll bounce back to you."
And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.
"Just hang in that same spot, munching and sipping what they give you: the worker deserves their pay. No hopping houses."
And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.
"In any city you roll into, if they vibe with you, eat what they serve."
And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:
"Heal the sick peeps there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God is rolling up on you.’"
And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
"But if you hit a city and they ain’t feeling you, just dip into the streets and say,"
But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say,
Even the dust from your city, we wipe it off like, ‘no cap,’ but know this, the kingdom of God is coming for you.
Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
For real, it’s gonna be way easier for Sodom on that day than for you, fam.
But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.
Yo, Chorazin and Bethsaida, y’all are sus! If the epic stuff done in you happened in Tyre and Sidon, they would’ve been repentin’ hard, like, in sackcloth and ashes.
Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
But no cap, Tyre and Sidon gonna have it easier at the judgment than you.
But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.
And you, Capernaum, thinking you’re all high up in heaven, but you gonna get dropped down to hell, fr.
And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell.
If you hear them, you hear me; if you diss them, you diss me; and if you shade me, you shade the one who sent me, periodt.
He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.
The seventy came back hyped, saying, 'Lord, even the demons are vibing with us through your name!'
And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
And he was like, 'I saw Satan fall from heaven like lightning, no cap.'
And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
Check this out, I’m giving you the power to step on serpents and scorpions, and over all the enemy’s vibes: nothing gonna hurt you, fr.
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
But don’t flex on the fact that spirits obey you; instead, celebrate that your names are noted in heaven, that’s the real win.
Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
In that moment, Jesus was vibing in the spirit and said, 'Thanks, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for keeping this info from the wise and spilling it to the little ones; that's just how you roll, periodt.'
In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
Everything’s been given to me by my Father; no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and the one the Son chooses to reveal him to, no cap.
All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and {he} to whom the Son will reveal {him}. {many ancient copies add these words at the beginning of verse, and turning to his disciples, he said}
Then he turned to his crew and said low-key, 'Blessed are the eyes that catch what you’re seeing.'
And he turned him unto {his} disciples, and said privately, Blessed {are} the eyes which see the things that ye see:
For real, I’m telling you, many prophets and kings wanted to see what you’re seeing but missed out, and they wanted to hear what you’re hearing but didn’t catch it.
For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen {them}; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard {them}.
And then this lawyer stood up trying to test him, saying, 'Yo, Master, what do I gotta do to snag that eternal life?'
And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
He replied, 'What’s written in the law? How do you read that?'
He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?
The lawyer said, 'You gotta love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, strength, and mind; and love your neighbor like yourself, fr.'
And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
Jesus was like, 'You nailed it; just do that and you’ll be living your best life.'
And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.
But he, trying to flex and justify himself, asked Jesus, 'So, who’s my neighbor though?'
But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?
Jesus responded with a story: 'A certain dude was traveling from Jerusalem to Jericho and got jumped by thieves who robbed him, beat him up, and left him half dead, savage.'
And Jesus answering said, A certain {man} went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded {him}, and departed, leaving {him} half dead.
So, a priest rolls up that way, sees the dude, and just dips to the other side. Sus move.
And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
Then a Levite comes through, checks him out, and also bounces to the other side. Total vibe kill.
And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked {on him}, and passed by on the other side.
But a Samaritan, while on his grind, sees him and feels for him, like, fr.
But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion {on him},
He goes over, wraps up his wounds, pours in some oil and wine, puts him on his ride, and takes him to an inn to care for him. Goated.
And went to {him}, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
The next day, he pulls out two coins, hands them to the innkeeper, and says, 'Look out for him; if you spend more, I got you when I’m back.'
And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave {them} to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
So, which of these three do you think was a true neighbor to the dude who got wrecked by thieves?
Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
He said, 'The one who showed mercy.' Jesus was like, 'Bet, go and do the same.'
And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.
As they were on their way, he hit up a village, and a woman named Martha welcomed him into her crib.
Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
She had a sister named Mary who was just chilling at Jesus' feet, soaking in all the wisdom.
And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.
But Martha was stressed with all the serving, so she came up to him and said, 'Lord, don’t you care that my sister left me hanging? Tell her to help me out!'
But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.
And Jesus was like, 'Martha, chill, you're stressing over way too much, fr.'
And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:
'But there’s one thing that’s a must: Mary picked the good vibe, and no one can take that away from her.'
But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
