Joshua Chapter 11
So, Jabin, the ruler of Hazor, caught wind of the situation and reached out to Jobab, king of Madon, plus the kings of Shimron and Achshaph, saying, "Let’s team up."
And it came to pass, when Jabin king of Hazor had heard {those things}, that he sent to Jobab king of Madon, and to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Achshaph,
He also connected with the kings hanging out in the northern mountains and the plains south of Chinneroth, along with the valley and the edge of Dor on the west, no cap.
And to the kings that {were} on the north of the mountains, and of the plains south of Chinneroth, and in the valley, and in the borders of Dor on the west,
And to the Canaanites on both sides, the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, and Jebusites in the hills, plus the Hivites chilling under Hermon in Mizpeh, like, "What’s popping?"
{And to} the Canaanite on the east and on the west, and {to} the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite in the mountains, and {to} the Hivite under Hermon in the land of Mizpeh.
They rolled deep with their crews, a ton of folks, like grains of sand on the shore, with mad horses and chariots, it was lit.
And they went out, they and all their hosts with them, much people, even as the sand that {is} upon the sea shore in multitude, with horses and chariots very many.
When all these kings joined forces, they set up camp by the waters of Merom, prepped to throw down with Israel, fr.
And when all these kings were met together, they came and pitched together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel. {met...: Heb. assembled by appointment}
The Lord hit up Joshua, saying, "Yo, don’t be shook of them: tomorrow, I’m handing them to you, all wiped out before Israel. You're gonna cut their horses and torch their chariots, periodt."
And the LORD said unto Joshua, Be not afraid because of them: for to morrow about this time will I deliver them up all slain before Israel: thou shalt hough their horses, and burn their chariots with fire.
So Joshua and his whole crew showed up on them by the waters of Merom outta nowhere and went hard on them.
So Joshua came, and all the people of war with him, against them by the waters of Merom suddenly; and they fell upon them.
The Lord delivered them into Israel's hands, who took them down and chased them all the way to Zidon and Misrephoth-maim, and to the valley of Mizpeh eastward; they didn’t leave a single one standing.
And the LORD delivered them into the hand of Israel, who smote them, and chased them unto great Zidon, and unto Misrephothmaim, and unto the valley of Mizpeh eastward; and they smote them, until they left them none remaining. {great Zidon: or, Zidonrabbah} {Misrephothmaim: or, Salt pits: Heb. Burnings of waters}
Joshua followed through on the Lord’s orders: he cut their horses and set their chariots ablaze, no cap.
And Joshua did unto them as the LORD bade him: he houghed their horses, and burnt their chariots with fire.
Then Joshua flipped back and took Hazor, slaying the king with the sword; Hazor was the head honcho of all those kingdoms.
And Joshua at that time turned back, and took Hazor, and smote the king thereof with the sword: for Hazor beforetime was the head of all those kingdoms.
They took out everyone inside with the sword, completely wiped them; nobody was left breathing, and he straight-up set Hazor on fire.
And they smote all the souls that {were} therein with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying {them}: there was not any left to breathe: and he burnt Hazor with fire. {any...: Heb. any breath}
Joshua seized all the cities of those kings, took them down with the sword, and totally wrecked them, just like Moses had told him to.
And all the cities of those kings, and all the kings of them, did Joshua take, and smote them with the edge of the sword, {and} he utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of the LORD commanded.
But for the cities that were still standing tall, Israel burned none except Hazor, that one got torched.
But {as for} the cities that stood still in their strength, Israel burned none of them, save Hazor only; {that} did Joshua burn. {in their...: Heb. on their heap}
And all the loot from those cities, and the livestock, the Israelites claimed for themselves; but everyone else they eliminated with the sword, leaving no one to breathe.
And all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, the children of Israel took for a prey unto themselves; but every man they smote with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them, neither left they any to breathe.
Just like the Lord commanded Moses, Moses told Joshua, and Joshua executed it; he left nothing undone from what the Lord instructed Moses, fr.
As the LORD commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua; he left nothing undone of all that the LORD commanded Moses. {left...: Heb. removed nothing}
So Joshua captured all that land, the hills, southern territory, Goshen, the valley, the plain, and the mountain of Israel, you feel me?
So Joshua took all that land, the hills, and all the south country, and all the land of Goshen, and the valley, and the plain, and the mountain of Israel, and the valley of the same;
From the mountain Halak up to Seir, all the way to Baal-gad in the valley of Lebanon under mount Hermon; he took out all their kings, no mercy.
{Even} from the mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir, even unto Baalgad in the valley of Lebanon under mount Hermon: and all their kings he took, and smote them, and slew them. {the mount...: or, the smooth mountain}
Joshua was in full-on battle mode for a hot minute with all those kings.
Joshua made war a long time with all those kings.
Not a single city made peace with Israel, except the Hivites from Gibeon; all others got taken down in battle, no cap.
There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, save the Hivites the inhabitants of Gibeon: all {other} they took in battle.
It was the Lord's scheme to harden their hearts so they’d come against Israel in battle, to totally wipe them out, just like He instructed Moses to do.
For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, {and} that they might have no favour, but that he might destroy them, as the LORD commanded Moses.
At that time, Joshua came and took out the Anakims from the mountains—Hebron, Debir, Anab, and all the mountains of Judah and Israel; he wiped them and their cities, savage style.
And at that time came Joshua, and cut off the Anakims from the mountains, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel: Joshua destroyed them utterly with their cities.
There weren't no Anakims left in the land of Israel, only in Gaza, Gath, and Ashdod, where they were still vibing.
There was none of the Anakims left in the land of the children of Israel: only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, there remained.
So Joshua took the whole land, just like the Lord told Moses; he handed it as an inheritance to Israel, split by their tribes. And the land finally had some chill from war.
So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD said unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war.
