John Chapter 21
So after everything, Jesus popped up again with the crew by the sea of Tiberias; here's how it went down.
After these things Jesus shewed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias; and on this wise shewed he {himself}.
Simon Peter, Thomas (you know, Didymus), Nathanael from Cana, the Zebedee brothers, and two other homies were all chilling together.
There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the {sons} of Zebedee, and two other of his disciples.
So Simon Peter was like, "Bet, I'm gonna go fishing." They replied, "We’re in too." They hopped on a boat right away, but that night, they didn’t catch anything.
Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.
When morning rolled around, Jesus was hanging on the shore, but the disciples had no idea it was him.
But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.
Jesus asked them, "Yo, you got any grub?" They answered, "Nah, fam."
Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No. {Children: or, Sirs}
He was like, "Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you’ll snag some." They did, and it was so fire they couldn’t even haul it up because of all the fish.
And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.
The disciple Jesus really vibed with said to Peter, "That’s the Lord!" When Simon Peter caught wind it was Jesus, he put on his fisher’s coat (he was kinda exposed) and jumped into the sea.
Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt {his} fisher's coat {unto him}, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea.
The other disciples followed in a small boat (they weren’t far from shore, like 200 cubits) dragging the net packed with fish.
And the other disciples came in a little ship; (for they were not far from land, but as it were two hundred cubits,) dragging the net with fishes.
When they reached land, they spotted a fire with coals, fish cooking, and bread chilling there.
As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread.
Jesus told them, "Bring the fish you just caught over here."
Jesus saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now caught.
So Simon Peter went up and dragged the net to shore, filled with big fish—153 of them! And even with that many, the net was still holding strong.
Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken.
Jesus said, "Come and get some food." None of the disciples dared to ask him, "Who are you?" 'Cause they knew it was the Lord.
Jesus saith unto them, Come {and} dine. And none of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.
Jesus came, grabbed the bread, handed it to them, and did the same with the fish.
Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise.
This was the third time Jesus revealed himself to the crew after he rose up from the dead.
This is now the third time that Jesus shewed himself to his disciples, after that he was risen from the dead.
So after their meal, Jesus asked Simon Peter, "Yo, Simon, son of Jonas, do you love me more than these?" Peter replied, "For real, Lord; you know I love you." Jesus said, "Tend to my lambs."
So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, {son} of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.
He asked him again, "Simon, son of Jonas, do you love me?" Peter said, "For real, Lord; you know I love you." Jesus responded, "Tend my sheep."
He saith to him again the second time, Simon, {son} of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
He asked a third time, "Simon, son of Jonas, do you love me?" Peter felt hurt 'cause he kept asking him, "Do you love me?" He said, "Lord, you know everything; you know I love you." Jesus replied, "Tend my sheep."
He saith unto him the third time, Simon, {son} of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
For real, I’m telling you, when you were young, you dressed yourself and went wherever you wanted; but when you get older, you’ll stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and take you to places you don’t wanna go.
Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry {thee} whither thou wouldest not.
He said this to show how Peter would glorify God. After that, he told him, "Follow me."
This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.
Then Peter glanced back and saw the disciple Jesus loved trailing them, the one who leaned on Jesus' chest at supper and asked, "Lord, who’s the snitch?"
Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee?
Peter asked Jesus, "What’s up with this dude?"
Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what {shall} this man {do}?
Jesus shot back, "If I want him to stick around until I come back, what’s that to you? You focus on following me."
Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what {is that} to thee? follow thou me.
This got around the squad that this disciple wouldn’t die; but Jesus didn’t say he wouldn’t die, just, "If I want him to stick around until I come back, what’s that to you?"
Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what {is that} to thee?
This is the disciple who’s been dropping truth about these things and wrote them down; we know his story is legit.
This is the disciple which testifieth of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true.
And there are so many more things Jesus did, that if we wrote them all down, even the whole world couldn’t hold all the books that would be written. Amen.
And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.
