Acts Chapter 1
Ayo, I just dropped this whole narrative for you, Theophilus, about all the dope things Jesus did and schooled us on.
The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,
Right up until the day He took off, after He dished out some orders through the Holy Ghost to the chosen crew.
Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:
He came through for them, popping up alive after His struggle, with mad evidence for forty days, vibing about the kingdom of God.
To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
While they were chilling together, He told them to hang tight in Jerusalem and wait for what the Father promised, which you already heard from me, no cap.
And, being assembled together with {them}, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, {saith he}, ye have heard of me. {being...: or, eating together}
John was all about that water baptism, but soon you'll get dunked with the Holy Ghost, fr.
For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
So when they gathered, they asked Him, "Yo, Lord, are you bringing back the kingdom to Israel right now?"
When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
He responded, "That’s not on you to figure out, fam; the Father’s got that on lock."
And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
But you’ll get some mad power when the Holy Ghost rolls in on you, and you’ll be my witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth, periodt.
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. {power...: or, the power of the Holy Ghost coming upon you}
After He dropped this knowledge, while they were peeping, He got lifted up, and a cloud just took Him outta sight.
And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
As they were gaping at heaven while He ascended, two guys in white outfits suddenly appeared next to them.
And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
Why y’all just staring into the sky? This same Jesus, who just levitated, is gonna return just like you saw Him dip. No cap.
Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
Then they cruised back to Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives, which was a chill walk.
Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey.
When they rolled up, they hit the upper room where the crew was hanging: Peter, James, John, Andrew, Philip, Thomas, Bartholomew, Matthew, James the son of Alpheus, Simon the Zealot, and Judas, the bro of James.
And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James {the son} of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas {the brother} of James.
They all vibed together, praying and seeking with the ladies, including Mary, Jesus’ mom, and His fam.
These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
During those days, Peter stood up in front of the squad and said, “We got about 120 peeps here.”
And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)
Fam, this verse had to go down, just like the Holy Spirit clued David in about Judas, who was the one leading the crew that took Jesus.
Men {and} brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.
He was part of us and had a slice of this ministry.
For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.
But this dude copped a field with his sketchy cash; then he fell hard and burst open, and all his insides went everywhere.
Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.
Everyone in Jerusalem got wind of it, so they called that field Aceldama, which translates to the field of blood.
And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood.
It’s written in the Psalms, “Let his place be vacant, and no one chill there: and let someone else take his position.”
For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take. {bishoprick: or, office, or, charge}
So, they're out here trying to choose someone who’s been vibing with us since Jesus was doing His thing.
Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,
From John’s baptism all the way to the day Jesus took off, we gotta find someone to vibe with us on witnessing His resurrection, no cap.
Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.
They selected two guys, Joseph, aka Barsabas, and Matthias.
And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.
They prayed, asking the Lord, "You know everyone’s hearts, show us who you want from these two dudes."
And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all {men}, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,
This person needs to be part of the ministry and apostleship that Judas bailed from to go to his own pad.
That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.
They cast lots, and it hit on Matthias; he officially joined the eleven apostles, straight up.
And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
