John Chapter 11
So there's this guy named Lazarus from Bethany, the place where Mary and Martha vibe.
Now a certain {man} was sick, {named} Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.
(This is the same Mary who blessed the Lord with some dope oil and dried his feet with her hair, and her brother Lazarus is sick.)
(It was {that} Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)
So, his sisters hit him up, saying, "Yo, Lord, the one you love is sick."
Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.
When Jesus heard this, he was like, "This sickness isn’t about death, it’s for God’s glory, so the Son of God can flex."
When Jesus heard {that}, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.
Jesus was really close to Martha, her sister, and Lazarus, no cap.
Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.
When he found out Lazarus was sick, he just chilled for two days in the same spot.
When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was.
Then he told his squad, "Alright fam, let’s head back to Judea."
Then after that saith he to {his} disciples, Let us go into Judaea again.
His disciples were like, "Master, the Jews were just trying to stone you; you really gonna go back?"
{His} disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again?
Jesus said, "Aren't there twelve hours in a day? If you walk in the day, you won’t trip, 'cause you see the light."
Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.
"But if you walk in the dark, you might stumble, 'cause there’s no light in you."
But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him.
So Jesus was like, "Our homie Lazarus is just chilling asleep; I’m about to wake him up, no cap."
These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.
The disciples were like, "If he’s sleeping, he’s vibing, right?"
Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.
But Jesus was talking about his death, and they thought he meant he was just catching some Zs.
Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.
Then Jesus straight up said, "Lazarus is dead, fam."
Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.
And I’m low-key glad I wasn’t there so you could believe; let’s roll up to him now.
And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him.
Thomas, aka Didymus, was like, "Bet, let’s go die with him."
Then said Thomas, which is called Didymus, unto his fellowdisciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him.
When Jesus arrived, he found Lazarus had been in the tomb for four days already, fr.
Then when Jesus came, he found that he had {lain} in the grave four days already.
Bethany was super close to Jerusalem, like a fifteen furlong walk away.
Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off: {about...: that is, about two miles}
A lot of Jews came to comfort Martha and Mary about their bro.
And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother.
Martha heard Jesus was coming and bounced to meet him, but Mary just stayed home, chillin'.
Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat {still} in the house.
Martha was like, "Yo Jesus, if you were here, my bro wouldn’t have kicked the bucket."
Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
But she knew, "Even now, whatever you ask God, He’s got you."
But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give {it} thee.
Jesus was like, "Your brother's gonna rise up, no cap."
Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.
Martha replied, "I know he'll rise on the last day, that’s a vibe."
Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
Jesus said, "I’m the resurrection and the life: if you believe in me, even if you die, you’ll live, periodt."
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
"Anyone who lives and believes in me will never die. You feelin' this?"
And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
She was like, "Yeah, Lord, I believe you’re the GOAT, the Son of God, for real."
She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.
After saying that, she bounced and secretly called her sister Mary, saying, "The Master’s here and wants you."
And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth for thee.
As soon as Mary heard that, she got up quick and went to him.
As soon as she heard {that}, she arose quickly, and came unto him.
Jesus hadn’t made it to the town yet, but was in the spot where Martha met him.
Now Jesus was not yet come into the town, but was in that place where Martha met him.
The Jews chillin' with her at home saw Mary bounce out quick, like, "She’s going to the grave to cry, fr."
The Jews then which were with her in the house, and comforted her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up hastily and went out, followed her, saying, She goeth unto the grave to weep there.
When Mary got to where Jesus was, she dropped to his feet, saying, "Lord, if you were here, my bro wouldn't have kicked the bucket."
Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
Jesus peeped her crying, and the Jews with her were also in their feels, and he felt it too, no cap.
When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled, {was troubled: Gr. he troubled himself}
He asked, "Where'd you put him?" They were like, "Lord, come check it out."
And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see.
Jesus cried.
Jesus wept.
The Jews were shook, saying, "Wow, look how much he loved him!"
Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!
Some were like, "Couldn’t this guy who opened blind eyes have saved him from dying?"
And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died?
Jesus, feeling heavy again, rolled up to the grave. It was a cave with a stone chillin' in front of it.
Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.
Jesus said, "Move the stone." Martha, the dead guy's sis, was like, "Lord, he’s been dead four days, it’s gonna smell bad!"
Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been {dead} four days.
Jesus told her, "Didn’t I say if you believe, you’d see God’s glory?"
Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?
They rolled the stone away from where the dead homie was chilling. Jesus looked up and said, "Dad, thanks for hearing me, no cap."
Then they took away the stone {from the place} where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up {his} eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.
I knew you always hear me, but I said it for the crowd's vibes, so they know you sent me, fr.
And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said {it}, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.
After he said that, he yelled super loud, "Lazarus, pop off and come out!"
And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.
The dead dude came out, all wrapped up like a mummy. Jesus was like, "Unwrap him and let him vibe."
And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.
So a bunch of Jews who rolled up to Mary and saw what Jesus did were like, "We believe in him, this is lit!"
Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him.
But some peeps went to the Pharisees and spilled the tea on what Jesus was doing.
But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees, and told them what things Jesus had done.
Then the chief priests and the Pharisees had a meeting, like, "What do we do? This dude is pulling off mad miracles."
Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles.
If we just let him do his thing, everyone’s gonna believe in him, and the Romans will come for our spot and crew.
If we let him thus alone, all {men} will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.
One of them, Caiaphas, the high priest that year, was like, "Y’all don’t know anything, periodt."
And one of them, {named} Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all,
And he pointed out that it’s better for one dude to die for the people than for the whole squad to be wiped out.
Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.
He wasn’t just talking for himself; as the high priest that year, he dropped a prophecy that Jesus was gonna die for the squad.
And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;
And not just for that squad, but to gather all the kids of God who were scattered everywhere.
And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.
From that day on, they were plotting together to take him out, no cap.
Then from that day forth they took counsel together for to put him to death.
So, Jesus dipped and didn’t roll with the Jews anymore; he headed to a spot near the wilderness, a city called Ephraim, and kicked it with his crew.
Jesus therefore walked no more openly among the Jews; but went thence unto a country near to the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim, and there continued with his disciples.
The Jews’ Passover was coming up, so a bunch of people bounced to Jerusalem to get themselves right.
And the Jews' passover was nigh at hand: and many went out of the country up to Jerusalem before the passover, to purify themselves.
They were looking for Jesus, chatting among themselves in the temple, like, "You think he’s gonna skip the feast?"
Then sought they for Jesus, and spake among themselves, as they stood in the temple, What think ye, that he will not come to the feast?
The chief priests and Pharisees were like, "If anyone knows where he’s at, spill the tea so we can grab him."
Now both the chief priests and the Pharisees had given a commandment, that, if any man knew where he were, he should shew {it}, that they might take him.
