John Chapter 1
At the start, there was the Word, and that Word was with God, and honestly, the Word was God. No cap, that’s the ultimate vibe.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
This same Word was there from the jump with God. No lie, they were tight since day one.
The same was in the beginning with God.
Everything was crafted through him; nothing that exists was created without him. He made it all, fr.
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
In him was life, and that life was the light for all people. His energy was pure illumination, lit vibes only.
In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
The light was shining in the dark, but the darkness couldn’t get it. The light was on point, but the dark was sus, totally lost.
And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. {comprehended: or, did not admit, or, receive}
There was a dude sent by God named John. John popped off, truly sent by God.
There was a man sent from God, whose name {was} John.
He came to witness and hype up the Light, so that everyone could believe through him. His role was to get people hyped about the Light's rizz.
The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all {men} through him might believe.
John wasn’t that Light himself, just here to testify about it. He was the hype man, not the main act.
He was not that Light, but {was sent} to bear witness of that Light.
That was the real Light, which gives light to every person who steps into the world. The true Light? A complete game changer, it hits different.
{That} was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
He was in the world, and the world was crafted by him, but the world didn’t even recognize him. He was here, yet the world was clueless, savage.
He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
He showed up to his people, but they weren’t vibing with him, no cap.
He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
Yet, those who did vibe with him got the power to say, "We're the fam of God," if they believe in his name, fr.
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, {even} to them that believe on his name: {power: or, the right, or, privilege}
They were born, not from blood or human schemes, but straight from God, periodt.
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
The Word became flesh and chilled with us; we peeped his glory, the kind of glory that’s goated, full of grace and truth.
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
John was out here hyping him up, yelling, "This dude is who I was talking about; he’s the real deal, no cap!"
John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
From his fullness, we all got blessed with grace upon grace, you feel?
And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
Moses brought the law, but Jesus slid in with grace and truth, that’s lit.
For the law was given by Moses, {but} grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
No one has ever seen God, but the only Son, who’s tight with the Father, shows him to us.
No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared {him}.
This is the story of John when the Jews sent some priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, "Who are you?"
And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?
He kept it 100 and said, "I’m not the Christ, just so you know."
And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.
They were like, “So what’s the vibe? You Elias or nah?” And he’s all, “No cap, I’m not. You saying I’m that prophet? Nah fam.”
And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No. {that prophet: or, a prophet?}
Then they hit him with, “Who even are you? We gotta tell the squad who sent us. What’s your deal?”
Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?
He was like, “I’m just the voice out here shouting in the wilderness, making the path for the Lord straight, just like the prophet Esaias said.”
He said, I {am} the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.
The crew that came to him were straight up Pharisees.
And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.
They asked him, “Why you dunking people if you ain't the Christ, Elias, or that prophet?”
And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?
John was like, “I’m just dunking folks in water, but there’s someone chillin' among you that you don’t even know.”
John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;
“That’s the one who’s coming after me, and he’s way more goated than I am—I'm not even worthy to untie his kicks.”
He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.
All this went down in Bethabara, past the Jordan, where John was doing his baptizing thing.
These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.
The next day, John spots Jesus rolling up and says, “Yo, peep it! The Lamb of God who’s gonna take away the world’s sin.”
The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. {taketh away: or, beareth}
“This is the dude I was hyping up, the one coming after me, but he’s actually been here before me.”
This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.
I didn’t know him, but I came through to show Israel what’s up, so I'm out here baptizing with water.
And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.
John was like, "I saw the Spirit drop from heaven like a dove, and it chillaxed on him."
And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.
I didn’t know him, but the one who sent me to baptize said, "The dude you see the Spirit vibe with is the one who baptizes with the Holy Ghost."
And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
I peeped it and can confirm, this is the Son of God.
And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.
The next day, John was just standing there with two of his homies.
Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;
He saw Jesus stroll by and was like, "Yo, check out the Lamb of God!"
And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!
The two homies heard him and decided to follow Jesus.
And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.
Jesus turned around and asked, "What are you guys looking for?" They were like, "Rabbi, where you chilling?"
Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou? {dwellest: or, abidest}
He said, "Come and see." They rolled up and saw where he was staying, and they kicked it with him that day, it was about the tenth hour.
He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour. {about...: that was two hours before night}
One of the two who heard John and followed him was Andrew, Simon Peter's bro.
One of the two which heard John {speak}, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.
He first finds his bro Simon and says, "Yo, we found the Messiah, aka the Christ. Lit!"
He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ. {the Christ: or, the Anointed}
He brings him to Jesus, and Jesus checks him out and says, "You’re Simon, son of Jona. From now on, you’re Cephas, which means a stone. Goated!"
And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.
The next day, Jesus is like, "I’m heading to Galilee," and finds Philip, saying, "Follow me, fam."
The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me.
Philip’s from Bethsaida, where Andrew and Peter are from. No cap.
Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.
Philip finds Nathanael and says, "We found the dude Moses and the prophets wrote about, Jesus from Nazareth, son of Joseph. Bussin!"
Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.
Nathanael’s like, "Can anything good come outta Nazareth?" Philip’s like, "Come and see, bro."
And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.
Jesus spots Nathanael coming and says, "Look, an Israelite for real, no sus vibes!"
Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!
Nathanael asks, "How do you know me?" Jesus replies, "Before Philip called you, I saw you chillin' under the fig tree."
Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.
Nathanael responds, "Rabbi, you’re the Son of God; you’re the King of Israel. Periodt!"
Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.
Jesus says, "Just 'cause I saw you under the fig tree, you believe? Bet, you’ll see even greater things!"
Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these.
Jesus was like, "No cap, you’re gonna see heaven pop off, with angels vibing up and down on the Son of Man."
And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.
