Joel Chapter 3
Ayo, listen up, in those times, when I’m bringing back the fam from Judah and Jerusalem,
For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,
I’m also rounding up all the nations and pulling them into the valley of Jehoshaphat, where I’ll vibe with them over my people and my heritage Israel, who got scattered and split up my land.
I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and {for} my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.
They’ve been throwing lots for my people, trading a boy for a baddie and selling a girl for some drinks, just to get turnt.
And they have cast lots for my people; and have given a boy for an harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they might drink.
For real, what’s good, Tyre and Zidon, and all the Palestine coast? You tryna get on my level? If you do, I’ll hit you back with that same vibe.
Yea, and what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the coasts of Palestine? will ye render me a recompence? and if ye recompense me, swiftly {and} speedily will I return your recompence upon your own head;
You snagged my silver and gold, flexing my solid goods in your shrines.
Because ye have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried into your temples my goodly pleasant things: {pleasant: Heb. desirable}
You flipped the kiddos of Judah and Jerusalem to the Grecians, trying to push them far from their homeland.
The children also of Judah and the children of Jerusalem have ye sold unto the Grecians, that ye might remove them far from their border. {the Grecians: Heb. the sons of the Grecians}
Bet, I’m pulling them up from where you sold them, and I’ll make sure you catch that karma.
Behold, I will raise them out of the place whither ye have sold them, and will return your recompence upon your own head:
I’m gonna sell your sons and daughters to the fam of Judah, and they’ll pass them off to the Sabeans, a crew far away: the Lord said it, no cap.
And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the children of Judah, and they shall sell them to the Sabeans, to a people far off: for the LORD hath spoken {it}.
Spread the news among the nations; gear up for battle, wake up the strong peeps, let all the warriors slide in.
Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up: {Prepare: Heb. Sanctify}
Turn your farming tools into weapons and your pruning hooks into spears: let the weak say, “I’m strong,” for real.
Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I {am} strong. {pruninghooks: or, scythes}
Gather up, all you nations, and roll through: let the powerful ones come down, O Lord.
Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O LORD. {cause...: or, the LORD shall bring down}
Let the nations get pumped and come to the valley of Jehoshaphat: I’m gonna chill there to judge all the nations around.
Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about.
Put in the sickle, the harvest is lit: come down; the press is packed, the fats are overflowing; their wickedness is wild.
Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness {is} great.
Tons of people, tons of people in the valley of decision: the day of the Lord is near in that spot.
Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD {is} near in the valley of decision. {decision: or, concision, or, threshing}
The sun and moon gonna be dark, and the stars will dip out on shining.
The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining.
The Lord’s gonna roar from Zion and drop His voice from Jerusalem; the heavens and earth will shake: but the Lord’s the hope for His crew and the strength of the kids of Israel.
The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD {will be} the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel. {hope: Heb. place of repair, or, harbour}
Then you’ll know I’m the Lord your God chilling in Zion, my holy mountain: Jerusalem will be fire, and no outsiders gonna pass through anymore.
So shall ye know that I {am} the LORD your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more. {holy: Heb. holiness}
On that day, the mountains gonna drop fresh wine, the hills gonna flow with milk, and all the rivers of Judah gonna flow with water; a fountain gonna burst from the Lord’s crib, watering the valley of Shittim.
And it shall come to pass in that day, {that} the mountains shall drop down new wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the rivers of Judah shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall come forth of the house of the LORD, and shall water the valley of Shittim. {flow: Heb. go}
Egypt gonna be a ghost town, and Edom gonna be a desolate wasteland, for the violence against the kids of Judah, 'cause they spilled innocent blood in their land.
Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence {against} the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land.
But Judah gonna be here forever, and Jerusalem from this gen to the next.
But Judah shall dwell for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation. {dwell: or, abide}
I’m gonna clean their blood that I haven’t cleaned up: for the Lord is chilling in Zion.
For I will cleanse their blood {that} I have not cleansed: for the LORD dwelleth in Zion. {for the...: or, even I the LORD that}
