Job Chapter 12
So Job was like, "Yo, pay attention here."
And Job answered and said,
For real, you all think you're the real deal, but wisdom is about to ghost you.
No doubt but ye {are} the people, and wisdom shall die with you.
But honestly, I get it just like you do; I ain't any less than you: who doesn’t know this knowledge?
But I have understanding as well as you; I {am} not inferior to you: yea, who knoweth not such things as these? {understanding: Heb. an heart} {I am...: Heb. I fall not lower than you} {who...: Heb. with whom are not such as these?}
I'm just this dude getting roasted by my neighbor, reaching out to God, while the righteous dude gets clowned.
I am {as} one mocked of his neighbour, who calleth upon God, and he answereth him: the just upright {man is} laughed to scorn.
Someone who's about to fall is like a lamp no one gives a care about when you're just chilling.
He that is ready to slip with {his} feet {is as} a lamp despised in the thought of him that is at ease.
The thieves are thriving, and those who test God are vibing; God’s got their back, no cap.
The tabernacles of robbers prosper, and they that provoke God are secure; into whose hand God bringeth {abundantly}.
But ask the animals, and they'll drop some wisdom; the birds will spill the tea.
But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee:
Or vibe with the earth, and it’ll teach you; the fish in the sea are down to enlighten you.
Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.
Who doesn’t notice that it’s the Lord’s hand that made all this?
Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this?
In His grasp lies the essence of every living thing and the breath of all mankind.
In whose hand {is} the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind. {soul: or, life} {all...: Heb. all flesh of man}
Aren't your ears checking words out? And your mouth tasting food?
Doth not the ear try words? and the mouth taste his meat? {mouth: Heb. palate}
Wisdom chills with the wise ones; long life brings that understanding.
With the ancient {is} wisdom; and in length of days understanding.
He’s got that wisdom and power; His advice is straight-up legendary.
With him {is} wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and understanding. {With...: that is, With God}
Peep this, He tears down and it can't be rebuilt; He shuts a dude up, and there’s no chance to talk.
Behold, he breaketh down, and it cannot be built again: he shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening. {up: Heb. upon}
Look, He holds back the waters so they dry; then He lets them loose, flipping the earth upside-down.
Behold, he withholdeth the waters, and they dry up: also he sendeth them out, and they overturn the earth.
With Him is serious strength and wisdom; both the deceived and the deceiver are His.
With him {is} strength and wisdom: the deceived and the deceiver {are} his.
He leads advisors to get wrecked and makes judges look foolish.
He leadeth counsellors away spoiled, and maketh the judges fools.
He breaks kings’ chains and ties them up like it’s a new trend.
He looseth the bond of kings, and girdeth their loins with a girdle.
He sends princes away with nothing and takes down the strong ones.
He leadeth princes away spoiled, and overthroweth the mighty.
He silences the reliable and snatches the wisdom from the old heads.
He removeth away the speech of the trusty, and taketh away the understanding of the aged. {speech...: Heb. lip of the faithful}
He throws shade on princes and weakens the powerful.
He poureth contempt upon princes, and weakeneth the strength of the mighty. {weakeneth...: or, looseth the girdle of the strong}
He uncovers deep truths from the dark and brings to light the shadows of death.
He discovereth deep things out of darkness, and bringeth out to light the shadow of death.
He lifts nations up and then brings them down; He expands them and then tightens them back.
He increaseth the nations, and destroyeth them: he enlargeth the nations, and straiteneth them {again}. {straiteneth: Heb. leadeth in}
He snatches the heart of the top dogs and makes them roam a wilderness with no signal.
He taketh away the heart of the chief of the people of the earth, and causeth them to wander in a wilderness {where there is} no way.
They stumble in the dark without a light, and He makes them wobble like they’re tipsy.
They grope in the dark without light, and he maketh them to stagger like {a} drunken {man}. {stagger: Heb. wander}
