James Chapter 1
So James, a servant of God and the Lord Jesus Christ, shoutout to the twelve tribes out there vibing all over the place.
James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.
Yo fam, find joy in everything when life throws you some wild curveballs;
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; {temptations: or, trials}
Fr, knowing that when your faith is tested, it’s just leveling up your patience.
Knowing {this}, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
But let that patience go off, so you can be legendary and lack nada.
But let patience have {her} perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
If you’re in need of wisdom, just hit up God; He’s got your back and won’t judge you; it’s all chill, you’ll get it.
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all {men} liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
But for real, ask with faith, no cap. If you’re all over the place, it’s like a wave just tossed about.
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
Don’t let that dude think he’ll snag anything from the Lord if he’s doubting.
For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
A double-minded person is just scattered, fr.
A double minded man {is} unstable in all his ways.
Let the bro who’s having a tough time flex on the fact that he’s being lifted up:
Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted: {rejoice: or, glory}
But the rich? They need to relax, 'cause like a flower, they’ll fade out.
But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.
When the sun comes up, it’s mad hot and makes the grass dry, flowers drop, and all that pretty stuff fades away; same energy for rich peeps, they’ll vanish too.
For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.
Blessed is the dude who can roll with temptation; when he gets tested, he’ll score that crown of life God promised to those who love Him, fr.
Blessed {is} the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
No cap, don’t let anyone say when they’re tempted, 'It’s God’s fault,' 'cause God ain’t about that evil vibe and doesn’t tempt anyone.
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: {evil: or, evils}
Every dude gets tempted when he’s pulled in by his own desires and gets baited.
But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Once those cravings get real, they bring sin into the game, and when sin’s done, it brings death, periodt.
Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Don’t get it twisted, fam.
Do not err, my beloved brethren.
Every solid gift and perfect gift comes from up high, straight from the Father of lights, who’s always on point, no shady business.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
He brought us to life with the truth, so we could be like the first harvest of His creations, no cap.
Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
So, fam, let every dude be quick to listen, slow to speak, and chill on the anger vibes.
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
’Cause human anger doesn’t create God’s righteous energy.
For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
So like, ditch all the bad vibes and drama, and soak in the truth with calm energy, 'cause it can save your souls, fr.
Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
But like, don’t just vibe with the word, actually live it out, or you’re just playing yourself, no cap.
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
If you just hear the word but don’t act, you’re like a dude checking himself out in the mirror.
For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
He sees himself, dips, and completely forgets what he even looks like, sus.
For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
But if you check out the perfect freedom law and keep at it, you’re not just a forgetful listener, but a doer, and that dude is gonna be blessed, periodt.
But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth {therein}, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. {deed: or, doing}
If someone seems all religious but can’t hold their tongue, they’re just deceiving their own heart, and their faith is straight-up empty.
If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion {is} vain.
Real, pure religion in front of God is this: help the orphans and widows when they’re in need, and keep yourself clean from the world’s mess.
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, {and} to keep himself unspotted from the world.
