Isaiah Chapter 9
Yet the vibes aren’t gonna be as rough as when Zebulun and Naphtali caught the first wave and then got hit hard by the sea beyond Jordan in Galilee.
Nevertheless the dimness {shall} not {be} such as {was} in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict {her by} the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations. {of the nations: or, populous}
A crew that was roaming in gloom just peeped a major light: those chilling in the shadow of death are getting illuminated, no cap.
The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.
You’ve boosted the nation, but the joy’s still looking sus: they’re vibing hard like it’s harvest season, just like when folks are hyped after a big win.
Thou hast multiplied the nation, {and} not increased the joy: they joy before thee according to the joy in harvest, {and} as {men} rejoice when they divide the spoil. {not: or, to him}
You’ve wiped the weight off his back, and the stick of the oppressor, just like back in the Midian times.
For thou hast broken the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day of Midian. {For...: or, When thou brakest}
Most battles are loud and messy, but this one’s gonna be all about fire and heat, periodt.
For every battle of the warrior {is} with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but {this} shall be with burning {and} fuel of fire. {For...: or, When the whole battle of the warrior was, etc} {but...: or, and it was, etc} {fuel: Heb. meat}
A kid’s born to us, a son’s given: the government’s riding on his shoulders, and his name’s gonna be fire: Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
His rule and peace? No cap, it’s gonna last forever, on David’s throne, establishing justice for all time. The Lord's hype will bring it to life.
Of the increase of {his} government and peace {there shall be} no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
The Lord dropped a word to Jacob, and it hit hard on Israel.
The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel.
Everyone’s gonna know, even Ephraim and Samaria, who flex with that pride.
And all the people shall know, {even} Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the pride and stoutness of heart,
The bricks came down, but we’re gonna rebuild it with solid stones: the sycamores got taken down, but we’ll replace them with cedars.
The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycomores are cut down, but we will change {them into} cedars.
So the Lord’s gonna stack up Rezin’s enemies against him, uniting the crew.
Therefore the LORD shall set up the adversaries of Rezin against him, and join his enemies together; {join: Heb. mingle}
Syrians in front, Philistines in back; they’re gonna feast on Israel like it’s a buffet. But even with all this, the anger’s still present, hands still out.
The Syrians before, and the Philistines behind; and they shall devour Israel with open mouth. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand {is} stretched out still. {open: Heb. whole}
The people ain’t turning back to the one who smacks them or seeking the Lord of hosts, fr.
For the people turneth not unto him that smiteth them, neither do they seek the LORD of hosts.
So the Lord’s chopping off Israel’s head and tail, branch and rush, all in one day, no cap.
Therefore the LORD will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day.
The old and respected is the head; the prophet spreading lies is the tail, savage.
The ancient and honourable, he {is} the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he {is} the tail.
The leaders are leading them off the path; those following are getting wrecked.
For the leaders of this people cause {them} to err; and {they that are} led of them {are} destroyed. {the leaders: or, they that call them blessed} {led of: or, called blessed of} {destroyed: Heb. swallowed up}
So the Lord’s not vibing with the young ones, no mercy for the orphans and widows: everyone’s being a hypocrite and a wrongdoer, spitting nonsense. Even with all this, the anger’s still present, hands still out.
Therefore the Lord shall have no joy in their young men, neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows: for every one {is} an hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth speaketh folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand {is} stretched out still. {folly: or, villany}
Wickedness blazes like fire: it’ll consume the thorns and briars, lighting up the forest like smoke rising.
For wickedness burneth as the fire: it shall devour the briers and thorns, and shall kindle in the thickets of the forest, and they shall mount up {like} the lifting up of smoke.
The Lord’s wrath darkens the land, and the people are like fuel for the fire: no one’s looking out for their homies.
Through the wrath of the LORD of hosts is the land darkened, and the people shall be as the fuel of the fire: no man shall spare his brother. {fuel: Heb. meat}
He’ll reach out to the right and still be hungry; he’ll chow down on the left and still not be satisfied: everyone’s gonna be munching on their own arm, fr.
And he shall snatch on the right hand, and be hungry; and he shall eat on the left hand, and they shall not be satisfied: they shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm: {snatch: Heb cut}
Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim, Manasseh: they’re gonna squad up against Judah. Even with all this, the anger’s still present, hands still out.
Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim, Manasseh: {and} they together {shall be} against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand {is} stretched out still.
