Isaiah Chapter 63
Who’s pullin’ up from Edom, draped in fresh gear from Bozrah? This energy is on point, flexin’ power like a boss. I’m here, spittin’ facts, ready to save the scene.
Who {is} this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this {that is} glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save. {glorious: Heb. decked}
Why you lookin’ all crimson in your fit, like you just crushed a wine press?
Wherefore {art thou} red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat?
I worked that winepress solo; no crew with me. I’m about to unleash my wrath and wreck ‘em; their blood’s gonna stain my drip, no cap.
I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people {there was} none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment.
The day for payback is hype in my heart, and my homies are finally free.
For the day of vengeance {is} in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.
I checked around, and nobody was there to lend a hand; so I took matters into my own hands and brought the save, my fury had my back.
And I looked, and {there was} none to help; and I wondered that {there was} none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me.
I’m gonna trample down the folks in my anger, get ‘em all lit on my rage, and crash their vibe to the floor.
And I will tread down the people in mine anger, and make them drunk in my fury, and I will bring down their strength to the earth.
I’ll shout out the Lord’s goodness and all the solid vibes he’s blessed us with, the major gifts for Israel, all thanks to his mercy and love.
I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, {and} the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.
He was like, “For real, they’re my crew, the ones who keep it 100; so I got their back as their Savior.”
For he said, Surely they {are} my people, children {that} will not lie: so he was their Saviour.
In all their struggles, he felt it too, and his presence saved them; with love and compassion, he redeemed them, carrying them through the ages.
In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.
But they were sus and disrespected his holy Spirit; so he flipped the script and became their foe.
But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, {and} he fought against them.
Then he thought back to the good ol’ days, like, “Where’s the one who got them outta the sea with the shepherd vibes? Where’s the one who put his holy Spirit in him?”
Then he remembered the days of old, Moses, {and} his people, {saying}, Where {is} he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of his flock? where {is} he that put his holy Spirit within him? {shepherd: or, shepherds}
He led them with Moses, flexin’ his glorious arm, splitting the waters to make a name for himself that stands forever.
That led {them} by the right hand of Moses with his glorious arm, dividing the water before them, to make himself an everlasting name?
He guided them through the deep like a horse runnin’ wild, so they wouldn’t fall.
That led them through the deep, as an horse in the wilderness, {that} they should not stumble?
As a beast kicks back in the valley, the Spirit of the Lord made him chill: you led your people to make your name shine.
As a beast goeth down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD caused him to rest: so didst thou lead thy people, to make thyself a glorious name.
Look down from heaven and peep your holy place: where’s your hype and strength, your compassion and mercy toward me? Are they on mute?
Look down from heaven, and behold from the habitation of thy holiness and of thy glory: where {is} thy zeal and thy strength, the sounding of thy bowels and of thy mercies toward me? are they restrained? {the sounding: or, the multitude}
No cap, you’re our Father, even if Abraham doesn’t recognize us, and Israel’s acting clueless: you, Lord, are our Father, our redeemer; your name’s eternal.
Doubtless thou {art} our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O LORD, {art} our father, our redeemer; thy name {is} from everlasting. {our redeemer...: or, our redeemer from everlasting is thy name}
Yo, Lord, why’d you let us drift from your ways and harden our hearts against your fear? Come back for your squad’s sake, the tribes you claim.
O LORD, why hast thou made us to err from thy ways, {and} hardened our heart from thy fear? Return for thy servants' sake, the tribes of thine inheritance.
Your holy people held the spot for a hot minute: our enemies have trampled your sanctuary.
The people of thy holiness have possessed {it} but a little while: our adversaries have trodden down thy sanctuary.
We’re yours: you never ruled over them; they weren’t even called by your name.
We are {thine}: thou never barest rule over them; they were not called by thy name. {they...: Heb. thy name was not called upon them}
