Isaiah Chapter 53
Who’s feeling our message? And who’s checking out the power of the Lord?
Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? {report: or, doctrine?: Heb. hearing?}
He’s gonna sprout like a plant from dry soil; no vibe or appeal, and when we catch a glimpse, he’s not a whole snack.
For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, {there is} no beauty that we should desire him.
He’s straight-up dissed and ghosted by the crowd; a dude in deep sorrow, and we kinda ignored him; he was lowkey hated, and we didn’t vibe with him.
He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were {our} faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. {we hid...: or, he hid as it were his face from us: Heb. as an hiding of faces from him, or, from us}
For real, he took on our struggles and carried our sadness; but we thought he was just all messed up, hit hard by God, and suffering.
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
But he got wrecked for our wrongs, he was bruised for our bad vibes: the battle for our peace was on him; and through his wounds, we’re mended, no cap.
But he {was} wounded for our transgressions, {he was} bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace {was} upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. {wounded: or, tormented} {stripes: Heb. bruise}
All of us like sheep just vibed out; we went our own ways; and the Lord laid all our bad energy on him.
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. {laid...: Heb. made the iniquity of us all to meet on him}
He was straight-up oppressed and went through it, but he didn’t say a word: brought like a lamb to the slaughter, just chillin' like a sheep, no chat.
He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
He got taken from jail and judgment: who’s gonna speak on his legacy? He was cut off from the living for my people’s wrongs.
He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. {from prison...: or, away by distress and judgment: but, etc} {was he...: Heb. was the stroke upon him}
He was buried with the wrongdoers, and with the wealthy when he passed; 'cause he didn’t do any violence, and there was no sus in his words.
And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither {was any} deceit in his mouth. {death: Heb. deaths}
Yet, the Lord was ready to bruise him; he made him suffer: when you make his soul a sin offering, he’ll see his offspring, live long, and the Lord’s vibe will thrive through him.
Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put {him} to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see {his} seed, he shall prolong {his} days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. {thou...: or, his soul shall make an offering}
He’ll see the struggle of his soul and be satisfied: through his knowledge, my righteous homie will justify many; he’ll carry their wrongs.
He shall see of the travail of his soul, {and} shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
So I’m gonna hook him up a share with the greats, and he’ll split the loot with the strong; 'cause he poured out his soul to the limit: he’s counted among the wrongdoers; he carried the sin of many and prayed for the transgressors.
Therefore will I divide him {a portion} with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
