Isaiah Chapter 40
Ayo, comfort my folks, God be sayin'.
Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.
Speak smooth to Jerusalem, let her know the struggle's over, her sins are wiped clean: she got double blessings from the God, no cap.
Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD'S hand double for all her sins. {comfortably: Heb. to the heart} {warfare: or, appointed time}
Out in the wilderness, a voice is like, "Prep for the Lord, make a straight way for our God."
The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
Every valley’s about to be hype, and every mountain’s gonna chill: the crooked’s getting straightened up, and the rough patches are gonna be smooth.
Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain: {straight: or, a straight place} {plain: or, a plain place}
The Lord's glory is about to shine, and everyone is gonna witness it together: God straight up said it, periodt.
And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see {it} together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken {it}.
The voice was like, "Shout out." And he was like, "What do I say?" All people are like grass, and all their vibes are like flowers in the field.
The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh {is} grass, and all the goodliness thereof {is} as the flower of the field:
The grass fades, the flowers die: the Spirit of the Lord breathes on it: for real, people are just like grass.
The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people {is} grass.
The grass fades, the flowers wither: but the word of our God stays goated forever.
The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
O Zion, bringing good news, climb up that high mountain; O Jerusalem, bringing good news, lift your voice strong; don’t be scared; tell the cities of Judah, "Peep your God!"
O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift {it} up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God! {O Zion...: or, O thou that tellest good tidings to Zion} {O Jerusalem...: or, O thou that tellest good tidings to Jerusalem}
Check it, the Lord God’s rolling in with power, and His arm is the real deal: His reward's with Him, and His work is coming through.
Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong {hand}, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward {is} with him, and his work before him. {with strong...: or, against the strong} {his work: or, recompence for his work}
He’s gonna vibe with His crew like a shepherd, scooping up the lambs and carrying them close, leading the fam gently, no cap.
He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry {them} in his bosom, {and} shall gently lead those that are with young. {that...: or, that give suck}
Who’s out here measuring the waters like it’s chill, sizing up the heavens, counting the earth’s dust, and weighing mountains like it’s a game?
Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance? {a measure: Heb. a tierce}
Who’s directing the Spirit of the Lord? Like, who’s giving Him the lowdown? That’s sus.
Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or {being} his counsellor hath taught him? {his...: Heb. man of his counsel}
Who’s He vibing with for advice, and who schooled Him on judgment and understanding? He’s got the ultimate rizz on knowledge.
With whom took he counsel, and {who} instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of understanding? {instructed...: Heb. made him understand} {understanding: Heb. understandings?}
Look, the nations are just a drop in the bucket, small dust on the scale; He lifts the islands like it's nothing.
Behold, the nations {are} as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing.
Lebanon ain’t even enough to light up, and the animals there can’t handle a lit sacrifice.
And Lebanon {is} not sufficient to burn, nor the beasts thereof sufficient for a burnt offering.
All nations are basically nothing to Him; they’re less than nothing, just straight-up vanity.
All nations before him {are} as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity.
So, who you gonna compare God to? What’s the vibe check on that?
To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him?
The craftsman’s out here melting down idols, the goldsmith’s draping it in gold, and making silver chains like it’s a flex.
The workman melteth a graven image, and the goldsmith spreadeth it over with gold, and casteth silver chains.
If you’re broke and can’t offer anything, you grab a tree that won’t rot, and find a crafty worker to whip up a solid idol that won’t budge.
He that {is} so impoverished that he hath no oblation chooseth a tree {that} will not rot; he seeketh unto him a cunning workman to prepare a graven image, {that} shall not be moved. {is so...: Heb. is poor of oblation}
Yo, did you hear? Like, have you not caught the vibe since day one? It’s been known since the jump, fr.
Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth?
He’s vibing on the circle of the Earth, and people are just little grasshoppers to Him; He spreads the heavens like a curtain, setting up a lit tent.
{It is} he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof {are} as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in: {It is...: or, Him that}
He straight up brings the big shots to zero; judges be looking like a joke.
That bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh the judges of the earth as vanity.
For real, they won’t even plant or sow; their roots won’t even dig in. He’ll just blow on them and they’ll fade like dry grass.
Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown: yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble.
So like, who you tryna compare me to? The Holy One ain’t got no rivals.
To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.
Look up high and see who crafted all this; He counts them all and calls them by name, flexing that serious strength. Not one’s missing, no cap.
Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these {things}, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that {he is} strong in power; not one faileth.
Why you saying, “My way is hidden from the Lord,” Jacob? Like, what’s good with that, Israel?
Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God?
You not catching it? The everlasting God, the Creator of everything, doesn’t tire out or get worn out. His wisdom is on another level.
Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, {that} the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? {there is} no searching of his understanding.
He gives strength to those who are weak; if you’re running low, He’s boosting your energy, no doubt.
He giveth power to the faint; and to {them that have} no might he increaseth strength.
Even the young ones gonna get worn out and fall, for real.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
But those who vibe with the Lord will get their energy back; they’ll soar like eagles; they’ll run and not get tired; they’ll walk and not tap out.
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew {their} strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; {and} they shall walk, and not faint. {renew: Heb. change}
