Hosea Chapter 6
Ayo, let’s hit up the Lord; He’s been tough, but He’ll patch us up. He’s come down hard, but He’s always got our backs.
Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.
In two days, He’s gonna revitalize us; on the third day, we’ll be vibin’ with Him, for real.
After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.
We’ll catch what’s solid if we run after the Lord; His moves are shining bright like the dawn, and He’ll come at us like the rain, no cap.
Then shall we know, {if} we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter {and} former rain unto the earth.
O Ephraim, what’s popping? O Judah, what’s your deal? Your goodness is like a morning haze, and it just disappears like early dew.
O Ephraim, what shall I do unto thee? O Judah, what shall I do unto thee? for your goodness {is} as a morning cloud, and as the early dew it goeth away. {goodness: or, mercy, or, kindness}
I’ve dropped some truth through the prophets; I’ve called them out with my words: your judgments gleam like the morning light.
Therefore have I hewed {them} by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of my mouth: and thy judgments {are as} the light {that} goeth forth. {and...: or, that thy judgments might be, etc}
I craved mercy, not just offerings; knowing God is way more crucial than burnt stuff, fr.
For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
But they’ve played me like everyone else, breaking the pact and acting sus with me.
But they like men have transgressed the covenant: there have they dealt treacherously against me. {men: or, Adam}
Gilead’s a spot full of shady vibes, straight up messed with blood.
Gilead {is} a city of them that work iniquity, {and is} polluted with blood. {polluted: or, cunning for}
Just like thieves hunting for a score, the priests are out here killing and getting reckless together.
And as troops of robbers wait for a man, {so} the company of priests murder in the way by consent: for they commit lewdness. {by...: Heb. with one shoulder, or, to Shechem} {lewdness: or, enormity}
I’ve witnessed some seriously wild things in Israel’s crib: Ephraim’s being disloyal, and Israel’s totally messed up.
I have seen an horrible thing in the house of Israel: there {is} the whoredom of Ephraim, Israel is defiled.
Also, O Judah, He’s got a harvest ready for you when I turn my people back around.
Also, O Judah, he hath set an harvest for thee, when I returned the captivity of my people.
