Hosea Chapter 12
Ephraim's just chasing clout and throwing shade; he’s all about those fibs and madness. They’re vibing with the Assyrians and sending oil to Egypt, no cap.
Ephraim feedeth on wind, and followeth after the east wind: he daily increaseth lies and desolation; and they do make a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil is carried into Egypt.
God's got some issues with Judah, and He’s about to dish out some payback on Jacob for his actions, periodt.
The LORD hath also a controversy with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his doings will he recompense him. {punish: Heb. visit upon}
He yanked on his bro’s heel in the womb, and he showed off his strength with God, that’s pure rizz.
He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God: {had...: Heb. was a prince, or, behaved himself princely}
For real, he had the upper hand over the angel and came out victorious; he cried and asked for help, found him at Beth-el, and they had a serious chat.
Yea, he had power over the angel, and prevailed: he wept, and made supplication unto him: he found him {in} Bethel, and there he spake with us;
The Lord of Hosts is the real MVP; His name is iconic.
Even the LORD God of hosts; the LORD {is} his memorial.
So, fam, return to your God: keep it 100 with mercy and justice, and stay chill with Him, always.
Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy God continually.
He’s a player, rocking those sneaky scales; he loves to stunt on others.
{He is} a merchant, the balances of deceit {are} in his hand: he loveth to oppress. {a merchant: or, Canaan} {oppress: or, deceive}
Ephraim’s like, “I’m ballin’ now, found my hustle,” but fr, there’s no sketchy business in my grind.
And Ephraim said, Yet I am become rich, I have found me out substance: {in} all my labours they shall find none iniquity in me that {were} sin. {in all...: or, all my labours suffice me not: he shall have punishment of iniquity in whom is sin} {that: Heb. which}
Yo, I’m the Lord your God from Egypt, and I’ll still have you chillin’ in tents like back in the day.
And I {that am} the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt will yet make thee to dwell in tabernacles, as in the days of the solemn feast.
I’ve dropped wisdom through the prophets, serving up visions and metaphors, keeping it fire.
I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets. {ministry: Heb. hand}
Is there any sus stuff in Gilead? For sure, it’s just empty vibes; they’re sacrificing bulls in Gilgal, and their altars are just mounds in the fields.
{Is there} iniquity {in} Gilead? surely they are vanity: they sacrifice bullocks in Gilgal; yea, their altars {are} as heaps in the furrows of the fields.
Jacob dipped to Syria, and Israel worked for a wifey while tending sheep, that grind.
And Jacob fled into the country of Syria, and Israel served for a wife, and for a wife he kept {sheep}.
A prophet guided Israel out of Egypt, and through him, they stayed protected, fr.
And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.
Ephraim really pushed the Lord’s buttons, so his blood's on him, and his shame's gonna come back to haunt him.
Ephraim provoked {him} to anger most bitterly: therefore shall he leave his blood upon him, and his reproach shall his Lord return unto him. {most...: Heb. with bitternesses} {blood: Heb. bloods}
