Genesis Chapter 15
So after all that, God tapped Abram in a vision, saying, "Listen up, Abram: I’m here for you, and I’m your ultimate reward.
After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I {am} thy shield, {and} thy exceeding great reward.
Abram was like, "For real, God, what's the sitch? I’m without kids, and this Eliezer dude is basically running my show."
And Abram said, Lord GOD, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house {is} this Eliezer of Damascus?
Abram then said, "No cap, you haven’t blessed me with any offspring, and the one chilling in my crib is set to inherit everything."
And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir.
God literally went, "Nah, that’s not your heir; the one from your own bloodline is gonna take that spot."
And, behold, the word of the LORD {came} unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.
God stepped outside with him and said, "Peep the sky and try to count those stars; that’s how many descendants you’re gonna have."
And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.
Abram was totally vibing with God; he believed, and God was like, "That’s some solid faith you got there."
And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.
God dropped, "I’m the one who snatched you from Ur to hook you up with this land as your own."
And he said unto him, I {am} the LORD that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it.
Abram was like, "Bet, God, how can I be sure I’m getting it?"
And he said, Lord GOD, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it?
God told him, "Grab a three-year-old heifer, a three-year-old she-goat, a three-year-old ram, a turtle dove, and a young pigeon."
And he said unto him, Take me an heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon.
So he gathered those animals, chopped them in half, laid them out, but didn’t touch the birds.
And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not.
When the birds came swooping in on the pieces, Abram was like, "Nah fam," and shooed them away.
And when the fowls came down upon the carcases, Abram drove them away.
As the sun hit the horizon, Abram got hit with a deep sleep, and it was giving serious dark vibes.
And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.
God hit him up, saying, "Fr, your fam's gonna be strangers in a land that ain’t theirs, grinding there for 400 years."
And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land {that is} not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;
"But chill, that nation they serve? I'm gonna throw down on them, and after that, they’ll bounce with mad riches."
And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.
"You’ll kick it with your fam in peace and live your best life till you're old, for real."
And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age.
"But in four generations, they’ll roll back here; the bad vibes of the Amorites ain’t full yet."
But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites {is} not yet full.
As the sun went down and it got dark, a smoking furnace and a blazing lamp cruised between the pieces.
And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces. {a burning...: Heb. a lamp of fire}
On that same day, the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, "I’m gifting this land to your fam, from the river of Egypt to the Euphrates, straight up."
In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:
The Kenites, the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites,
The Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites,
And the Hittites, the Perizzites, and the Rephaims,
And the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims,
The Amorites, Canaanites, Girgashites, and Jebusites all in the mix. Major vibes.
And the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.
