Exodus Chapter 23
For real, keep that fake tea to yourself; don’t vibe with the shady to be a sus witness.
Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness. {raise: or, receive}
Don’t just roll with the crew to do dirt; stay true and don’t switch up for the many to mess with justice.
Thou shalt not follow a multitude to {do} evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest {judgment}: {speak: Heb. answer}
Don’t play favorites with the underprivileged; stay authentic.
Neither shalt thou countenance a poor man in his cause.
If you peep your enemy’s ox or donkey lost, you better bring it back, fam.
If thou meet thine enemy's ox or his ass going astray, thou shalt surely bring it back to him again.
When you see your hater’s donkey struggling, don’t ghost them, lend a hand for real.
If thou see the ass of him that hateth thee lying under his burden, and wouldest forbear to help him, thou shalt surely help with him. {and...: or, wilt thou cease to help him? or, and wouldest cease to leave thy business for him: thou shalt surely leave it to join with him}
Don’t twist the judgment for the less fortunate; that’s just heartless.
Thou shalt not wrest the judgment of thy poor in his cause.
Avoid the fake drama; don’t mess with the righteous, ‘cause I ain’t doing no favors for the wicked, periodt.
Keep thee far from a false matter; and the innocent and righteous slay thou not: for I will not justify the wicked.
Don’t take gifts; they’ll mess with your mind and skew the truth.
And thou shalt take no gift: for the gift blindeth the wise, and perverteth the words of the righteous. {the wise: Heb. the seeing}
Don’t be rough on outsiders; remember, you were once in their shoes too.
Also thou shalt not oppress a stranger: for ye know the heart of a stranger, seeing ye were strangers in the land of Egypt. {heart: Heb. soul}
For six years, work your land and reap the harvest; that’s the hustle.
And six years thou shalt sow thy land, and shalt gather in the fruits thereof:
In the seventh year, just let it chill and do its thing; the needy can eat, and whatever's left is for the animals. Same rules apply to your vines and olive trees, fr.
But the seventh {year} thou shalt let it rest and lie still; that the poor of thy people may eat: and what they leave the beasts of the field shall eat. In like manner thou shalt deal with thy vineyard, {and} with thy oliveyard. {oliveyard: or, olive trees}
Grind for six days, but on the seventh, you gotta chill: let your ox and donkey relax, and even your homies and the outsiders can take a break.
Six days thou shalt do thy work, and on the seventh day thou shalt rest: that thine ox and thine ass may rest, and the son of thy handmaid, and the stranger, may be refreshed.
Stay true to everything I told you: don’t even mention the names of other gods, that’s sus.
And in all {things} that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.
You gotta throw a celebration for me three times a year, no cap.
Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto me in the year.
Celebrate the feast of unleavened bread: munch on that for seven days like I told ya during Abib, 'cause that's when you dipped from Egypt. Don’t roll up empty-handed.
Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty:)
Also, have a harvest feast for the first fruits of your hustle, and the ingathering feast at the year’s end when you’ve wrapped up all your work.
And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labours, which thou hast sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering, {which is} in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the field.
Three times a year, all your squad needs to show up before the Lord God, periodt.
Three times in the year all thy males shall appear before the Lord GOD.
Don’t mix the blood from my sacrifice with leavened bread; also, don’t let the fat chill until morning.
Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread; neither shall the fat of my sacrifice remain until the morning. {sacrifice: or, feast}
Bring the first of your first fruits to the Lord’s crib. And don’t cook a kid in its mom's milk, that's just off.
The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring into the house of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.
Yo, I'm sending an Angel ahead of you to guide you and take you to the spot I’ve laid out.
Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.
Watch out for him, and vibe with his voice, don’t make him mad; he ain't gonna forgive your slip-ups: my name's in him, no cap.
Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name {is} in him.
But if you really vibe with his voice and follow what I say; then I’ll be a savage against your haters, and a boss against your enemies.
But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries. {an adversary...: or, I will afflict them that afflict thee}
My Angel's gonna lead you, taking you to the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hivites, and Jebusites: I’ll handle them, periodt.
For mine Angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites: and I will cut them off.
Don’t bow to their gods, or serve them, or do their stuff: just straight-up take them out and smash their idols.
Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images.
You gotta serve the Lord your God, and he’ll bless your food and drink; I’ll keep sickness far from you, fr.
And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.
Nothing in your land will be barren or lose their young: I’ll make sure you live long, bet.
There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil.
I’ll send my fear ahead of you, and take out all the people you meet, making all your enemies back down.
I will send my fear before thee, and will destroy all the people to whom thou shalt come, and I will make all thine enemies turn their backs unto thee. {backs: Heb. neck}
I’ll send hornets to drive out the Hivite, Canaanite, and Hittite from your path, no cap.
And I will send hornets before thee, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite, from before thee.
I won’t kick them out all at once; otherwise, the land will go to waste, and wild beasts will come for you.
I will not drive them out from before thee in one year; lest the land become desolate, and the beast of the field multiply against thee.
Little by little, I’ll clear them out for you, until you grow and take over the land.
By little and little I will drive them out from before thee, until thou be increased, and inherit the land.
I'm setting your borders from the Red Sea to the Philistine coast, and from the desert to the river. I'm handing the land's people over to you, so you can kick them out, no cap.
And I will set thy bounds from the Red sea even unto the sea of the Philistines, and from the desert unto the river: for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand; and thou shalt drive them out before thee.
Don’t be making deals with them or their gods, fr.
Thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor with their gods.
They can't vibe in your land, or they'll have you sinning against me. If you roll with their gods, it’s gonna be a whole trap, periodt.
They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin against me: for if thou serve their gods, it will surely be a snare unto thee.
