Acts Chapter 9
So Saul was out here throwing threats and ready to battle the Lord's squad, rolling up to the high priest, no cap.
And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,
He was like, "Ayo, can I grab some letters to the synagogues in Damascus? If I catch any of these folks, I'm bringing them back to Jerusalem, periodt."
And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem. {of this way: Gr. of the way}
While he was on his grind, he got close to Damascus, and bam, a light from heaven just lit up around him.
And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
He hit the floor hard and heard a voice say, "Saul, Saul, why you gotta come at me like that?"
And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
He was like, "Who are you, Lord?" And the Lord shot back, "It's Jesus, the one you're after; stop kicking against the goads, fam."
And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: {it is} hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
Shook and amazed, he asked, "Lord, what do you want me to do?" And the Lord said, "Get up, head into the city, and you'll find out what to do next."
And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord {said} unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
The homies traveling with him were just standing there, totally confused, hearing a voice but seeing no one.
And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.
Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes, he couldn't see anything; they had to lead him into Damascus.
And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought {him} into Damascus.
He was blind for three days, not eating or drinking, just vibing in the dark.
And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink.
In Damascus, there was this disciple named Ananias, and the Lord hit him up in a vision, saying, "Ananias." He replied, "Yo, I'm here, Lord."
And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I {am here}, Lord.
Then the Lord said, "Get up, hit the street called Straight, and ask Judas about this dude named Saul from Tarsus, ‘cause he’s out here praying, no cap."
And the Lord {said} unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for {one} called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,
"He’s seen a vision of a guy named Ananias coming in, laying hands on him so he can get his sight back. Vibes."
And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting {his} hand on him, that he might receive his sight.
Ananias was like, "Yo, Lord, I’ve heard a lot about this dude and all the wild stuff he’s done to your crew in Jerusalem."
Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:
"And he’s got major authority from the chief priests to lock up anyone calling on your name, fr."
And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.
But the Lord was like, "Nah, just go: he’s my chosen one to rep my name to the Gentiles, kings, and the kids of Israel."
But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
"I’m about to show him the wild things he’s gonna face for my name, periodt."
For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.
Ananias bounced and went to the spot; he laid hands on him and said, "Yo, Brother Saul, Jesus who met you on your way sent me so you can get your sight back and be filled with the Holy Ghost."
And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, {even} Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
Right then, it was like scales fell from his eyes, and he could see again, got up, and got baptized, no cap.
And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.
After he ate some food, he was feeling pumped. Saul kicked it with the disciples in Damascus for a few days.
And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.
And straight up, he started preaching Christ in the synagogues, saying he’s the Son of God, and that slaps.
And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.
Everyone who heard him was shook, saying, "Ain't this the dude who was out here wrecking folks calling on this name in Jerusalem? He came here to snatch them up for the chief priests, no cap?"
But all that heard {him} were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests?
But Saul was leveling up his game, making the Jews in Damascus look sus, proving that he’s the real deal, fr.
But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.
After a bit, the Jews were plotting to take him out, straight up.
And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him:
But Saul caught wind of their plan, and they were lurking at the gates day and night, trying to catch him slipping.
But their laying await was known of Saul. And they watched the gates day and night to kill him.
So, the disciples pulled a sneaky move at night and lowered him down the wall in a basket, lowkey genius.
Then the disciples took him by night, and let {him} down by the wall in a basket.
When Saul hit up Jerusalem, he tried to roll with the disciples, but they were all scared of him, thinking he was still sus.
And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple.
But Barnabas came through, brought him to the apostles, and told them how he’d seen the Lord on his way and preached hard at Damascus in Jesus' name.
But Barnabas took him, and brought {him} to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.
He was with them, vibing in and out of Jerusalem.
And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem.
He spoke with bold rizz in the name of the Lord Jesus, arguing with the Grecians, but they were plotting to take him out too.
And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to slay him.
When the bros found out, they sent him down to Cesarea and shipped him off to Tarsus, periodt.
{Which} when the brethren knew, they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus.
The churches were chillin’ all over Judea, Galilee, and Samaria, getting their vibes up; they were lowkey growing, feeling the fear of the Lord and the comfort of the Holy Ghost, no cap.
Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.
So, Peter was out here cruising through all the spots, and he hit up the saints chillin’ in Lydda.
And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all {quarters}, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda.
There he found this dude named Eneas, who’d been stuck in bed for eight years, dealing with some serious sick vibes.
And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy.
Peter was like, “Eneas, Jesus Christ got you! Get up and make your bed.” Dude straight up bounced up immediately.
And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.
Everyone in Lydda and Saron saw him and was like, “Yo, we gotta turn to the Lord!”
And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord.
So, there was this disciple in Joppa named Tabitha, aka Dorcas, who was just out here doing good stuff and helping people, periodt.
Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did. {Dorcas: or, Doe, or, Roe}
But then she got sick and passed away, and when they washed her up, they laid her in an upper room.
And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid {her} in an upper chamber.
Since Lydda was close to Joppa and the disciples heard Peter was in town, they sent two guys to him, asking him to come through ASAP.
And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring {him} that he would not delay to come to them. {delay: or, be grieved}
Peter got up and went with them. When he got there, they brought him to the upper room, and all the widows were crying, showing off the clothes Dorcas made while she was around.
Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.
But Peter kicked everyone out, knelt down, and prayed; then he turned to the body and said, “Tabitha, get up.” She opened her eyes, saw Peter, and sat up like, “What’s good?”
But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning {him} to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
He reached out his hand, lifted her up, and when he called the saints and widows, he flexed her being alive.
And he gave her {his} hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.
Word spread all over Joppa; mad people started believing in the Lord.
And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.
He ended up chilling in Joppa for a bit with this dude Simon, who was a tanner.
And it came to pass, that he tarried many days in Joppa with one Simon a tanner.
