Acts Chapter 13
In Antioch, the squad included some prophets and teachers like Barnabas, Simeon (nicknamed Niger), Lucius from Cyrene, Manaen who grew up with Herod, and Saul.
Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. {which...: or, Herod's foster brother}
While they were chilling and fasting, the Holy Spirit was like, "Yo, set apart Barnabas and Saul for the work I got for them."
As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.
After they fasted and prayed, they laid hands on them and sent them off, no cap.
And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid {their} hands on them, they sent {them} away.
So, sent by the Holy Spirit, they bounced to Seleucia, and then caught a boat to Cyprus.
So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed unto Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.
When they reached Salamis, they preached the word of God in the Jewish synagogues, and John was there to back them up.
And when they were at Salamis, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews: and they had also John to {their} minister.
As they cruised through the island to Paphos, they stumbled upon this sorcerer, a fake prophet Jew named Bar-Jesus, with some sus vibes.
And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name {was} Barjesus:
He was hanging out with the local deputy, Sergius Paulus, a smart guy; he called for Barnabas and Saul because he wanted to hear the word of God, fr.
Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.
But Elymas the sorcerer (that’s him, fr) tried to block them, trying to lead the deputy away from the faith.
But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.
Then Saul (who's also known as Paul), filled with the Holy Spirit, fixed his gaze on him, totally locked in.
Then Saul, (who also {is called} Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him,
He said, "Yo, you’re all about that shady life, child of the devil, enemy of truth, when are you gonna stop perverting the Lord's ways?"
And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, {thou} child of the devil, {thou} enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?
Check it, the Lord's hand is on you, and you’re about to be blind, can’t see the sun for a hot minute. Then darkness and fog hit, and dude was just wandering, looking for someone to guide him.
And now, behold, the hand of the Lord {is} upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand.
The deputy saw what went down and was shook; he believed, vibing with the teachings of the Lord.
Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.
So Paul and the squad left Paphos and made their way to Perga in Pamphylia, but John was like, "Nah," and headed back to Jerusalem.
Now when Paul and his company loosed from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia: and John departing from them returned to Jerusalem.
Once they left Perga, they rolled up to Antioch in Pisidia, went into the synagogue on the Sabbath, and just chilled.
But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and sat down.
After they read the law and the prophets, the leaders slid over and said, "Yo, if you got anything to hype the crowd, spill it."
And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, {Ye} men {and} brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.
Then Paul stood up, waved his hand, and was like, "Ayo, Israel fam, and everyone who respects God, listen up."
Then Paul stood up, and beckoning with {his} hand said, Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, give audience.
The God of Israel chose our ancestors and elevated them while they were chilling in Egypt, flexed hard and got them out of there.
The God of this people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with an high arm brought he them out of it.
For like forty years, He dealt with their vibes in the wilderness.
And about the time of forty years suffered he their manners in the wilderness. {suffered...: or bore, or fed them as a nurse beareth, or feedeth, her child}
Then He took out seven nations in Canaan and split their land up for them like it was nothing.
And when he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Chanaan, he divided their land to them by lot.
After that, He hooked them up with judges for around four hundred and fifty years, until Samuel the prophet showed up.
And after that he gave {unto them} judges about the space of four hundred and fifty years, until Samuel the prophet.
After that, they were like, "We need a king," so God was like, "Bet, here’s Saul from Benjamin for 40 years."
And afterward they desired a king: and God gave unto them Saul the son of Cis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of forty years.
When Saul’s time was up, God was like, "David’s next," and said, "I found my dude, he’s a man after my own heart, gonna do my will, fr."
And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the {son} of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.
From this dude’s family, God kept it real and brought a Savior for Israel, Jesus.
Of this man's seed hath God according to {his} promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:
John was out here preaching about the baptism of repentance before Jesus showed up, telling all the peeps in Israel.
When John had first preached before his coming the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.
As John wrapped up his gig, he was like, "Who do you think I am? Not the one, but there's someone coming after me whose kicks I ain't even worthy to tie up."
And as John fulfilled his course, he said, Whom think ye that I am? I am not {he}. But, behold, there cometh one after me, whose shoes of {his} feet I am not worthy to loose.
Yo, fam and friends, children of Abraham, and anyone who fears God, this salvation is for you, no cap.
Men {and} brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent.
The folks in Jerusalem and their leaders didn’t peep him or the vibes of the prophets read every Sabbath, so they ended up condemning him.
For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled {them} in condemning {him}.
Even though they found no reason to take him out, they still asked Pilate to end him.
And though they found no cause of death {in him}, yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain.
After doing everything written about him, they took him down from the tree and laid him in a tomb, periodt.
And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took {him} down from the tree, and laid {him} in a sepulchre.
But God was like, "Nah," and raised him from the dead.
But God raised him from the dead:
He was seen for a grip by those who rolled with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, and they're the witnesses to the crew.
And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people.
We’re dropping some solid news, fam, about the promise made to the OGs.
And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers,
God came through for us, their kids, by raising Jesus up again; like it says in the second psalm, "You’re my Son, today I got you."
God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.
And about him rising from the dead, no cap, he said, "I’ll hook you up with the real blessings of David."
And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, {now} no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David. {mercies: Gr. holy, or just things: which word the Septuagint in many places, uses for that which is in the Hebrew, mercies}
He also said in another psalm, "You won’t let your Holy One see decay."
Wherefore he saith also in another {psalm}, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
David, after serving his crew by God's plan, took a nap and joined his fam, and yeah, he saw decay.
For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption: {after...: or, after he had in his own age served the will of God}
But the one God raised up? No decay for him, fr.
But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.
So listen up, fam, through this dude, we’re preaching that sins can be forgiven.
Be it known unto you therefore, men {and} brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:
And through him, everyone who believes is cleared of everything, stuff the law of Moses couldn’t fix.
And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.
So watch out, or you might catch what the prophets warned about.
Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets;
Yo, haters! You gonna be shook and fade away 'cause I'm doing some crazy stuff in your time, and you ain't gonna believe it, even if someone spills the tea.
Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.
After the Jews dipped from the synagogue, the Gentiles were like, "Yo, can we get this message preached to us next Sabbath?"
And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath. {the next...: Gr. in the week between, or, in the sabbath between}
When the crew broke up, a bunch of Jews and new followers rolled with Paul and Barnabas, vibing, convincing them to keep riding the grace wave of God.
Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.
The next Sabbath, the whole city showed up to hear the word of God. Major vibes.
And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.
But when the Jews peeped the crowd, they got mad jelly and started hating on what Paul was saying, straight up contradicting and throwing shade.
But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.
Then Paul and Barnabas got bold and said, "We had to drop the word of God to you first, but since you’re sleeping on it and thinking you're not worthy of eternal life, we’re turning to the Gentiles."
Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.
For real, the Lord told us, "I made you a light for the Gentiles, so you can bring salvation to the ends of the earth."
For so hath the Lord commanded us, {saying}, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.
When the Gentiles heard this, they were hyped and praised the word of the Lord, and all those destined for eternal life were like, "Bet, we believe."
And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.
And the word of the Lord spread everywhere.
And the word of the Lord was published throughout all the region.
But the Jews stirred up the classy ladies and the top dogs in the city, causing drama against Paul and Barnabas, and kicked them out of their hood.
But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts.
They dusted off their kicks and bounced to Iconium.
But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came unto Iconium.
The crew was vibin' with joy and the Holy Spirit, for real.
And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost.
