Acts Chapter 14
So, in Iconium, they showed up at the Jewish synagogue and dropped some knowledge, and a whole crew of Jews and Greeks were like, 'We’re down with this!'
And it came to pass in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spake, that a great multitude both of the Jews and also of the Greeks believed.
But the haters, those skeptical Jews, got the Gentiles all hyped up, spreading mad shade against the squad.
But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against the brethren.
They were out there for a bit, delivering bold energy in the Lord, who was flexing with signs and wonders through them.
Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.
The city was split, some vibing with the Jews, and others rolling with the apostles.
But the multitude of the city was divided: and part held with the Jews, and part with the apostles.
Then the Gentiles and Jews, with their leaders, tried to come at them hard and stone them, and it was super sus.
And when there was an assault made both of the Gentiles, and also of the Jews with their rulers, to use {them} despitefully, and to stone them,
They caught wind of the situation and bounced to Lystra and Derbe, chilling in the nearby area.
They were ware of {it}, and fled unto Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and unto the region that lieth round about:
And there, they were spreading the gospel, sharing the hype.
And there they preached the gospel.
There was this guy at Lystra, completely unable to walk since birth, just chilling there.
And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked:
He caught Paul speaking, and Paul peeped him, noticing he had the faith to be healed.
The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed,
Paul yelled, 'Get on your feet!' And the dude just hopped up and started walking.
Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.
When the crew saw what Paul did, they were like, 'OMG, the gods just showed up as people!'
And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.
They labeled Barnabas as Jupiter and Paul as Mercurius 'cause he was the main talker, no cap.
And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker.
Then the priest of Jupiter, from their city, brought oxen and flowers to the gates, ready to pop off with a sacrifice.
Then the priest of Jupiter, which was before their city, brought oxen and garlands unto the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the people.
When the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, caught wind of this, they tore their clothes and rushed to the crowd, shouting,
{Which} when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard {of}, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out,
'Yo, why y’all doing this? We’re just like you, and we’re here to tell you to ditch these fake vibes and turn to the real God who made heaven, earth, the sea, and everything in it.'
And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:
He let all the nations vibe back in the day.
Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways.
But he didn’t leave us hanging; he came through with good vibes, giving us rain from heaven and dope seasons, filling our hearts with food and joy.
Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.
Despite all that, they almost stopped the crowd from sacrificing to them.
And with these sayings scarce restrained they the people, that they had not done sacrifice unto them.
Then some Jews from Antioch and Iconium showed up, changed the crowd's mind, and after they stoned Paul, they dragged him out of the city, thinking he was done.
And there came thither {certain} Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and, having stoned Paul, drew {him} out of the city, supposing he had been dead.
But the disciples stood around him, and he got back up and went into the city; the next day, he dipped with Barnabas to Derbe.
Howbeit, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe.
After they spread the gospel in that city and taught a bunch of peeps, they rolled back to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch, no cap.
And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and {to} Iconium, and Antioch, {had taught many: Gr. had made many disciples}
They were lifting the disciples' spirits, telling them to keep the faith strong, 'cause we gotta go through some trials to get into God's kingdom, fr.
Confirming the souls of the disciples, {and} exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.
They selected some elders for each church, prayed hard, and entrusted them to the Lord, who they fully believed in.
And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.
Then they cruised through Pisidia and arrived at Pamphylia.
And after they had passed throughout Pisidia, they came to Pamphylia.
After preaching the word in Perga, they dipped down to Attalia, lit.
And when they had preached the word in Perga, they went down into Attalia:
From there, they sailed back to Antioch, where they were sent off to vibe with God's grace for the work they completed.
And thence sailed to Antioch, from whence they had been recommended to the grace of God for the work which they fulfilled.
When they got back and gathered the church, they dropped the tea on everything God did with them and how He opened the faith door for the Gentiles, periodt.
And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles.
They hung out there for a bit with the disciples, just vibing.
And there they abode long time with the disciples.
