Zechariah Chapter 8
Ayo, the message from the Lord of hosts came at me again, saying,
Again the word of the LORD of hosts came {to me}, saying,
The Lord of hosts was like, "I’m mad jealous for Zion, no cap, and I’m lowkey heated about it."
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I was jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I was jealous for her with great fury.
So the Lord said, "I’m back in Zion, kickin’ it in Jerusalem: it’s gonna be known as the city of truth, and the mountain of the Lord is the holy mountain."
Thus saith the LORD; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts the holy mountain.
The Lord of hosts is saying, "Elderly folks will still be chilling in the streets of Jerusalem with their canes, just living their best lives, fr."
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; There shall yet old men and old women dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, and every man with his staff in his hand for very age. {very...: Heb. multitude of days}
The city’s streets will be hype with boys and girls just vibing and having a blast.
And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in the streets thereof.
The Lord of hosts asked, "If this feels wild to the remaining crew, should it be wild to me too?"
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; If it be marvellous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in these days, should it also be marvellous in mine eyes? saith the LORD of hosts. {marvellous: or, hard, or, difficult}
The Lord of hosts was like, "Peep this, I’m rescuing my crew from the east and the west."
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will save my people from the east country, and from the west country; {the west...: Heb. the country of the going down of the sun}
I’ll bring them back, and they’ll vibe in Jerusalem: they’ll be my people, and I’ll be their God, for real.
And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.
The Lord of hosts says, "Get your strength up, you who hear these words from the prophets, back when we built the Lord’s house."
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Let your hands be strong, ye that hear in these days these words by the mouth of the prophets, which {were} in the day {that} the foundation of the house of the LORD of hosts was laid, that the temple might be built.
Before this, there wasn’t any hustle for anyone, no peace for those coming or going because it was all chaos: I had everyone beefing.
For before these days there was no hire for man, nor any hire for beast; neither {was there any} peace to him that went out or came in because of the affliction: for I set all men every one against his neighbour. {there was...: or, the hire of man became nothing}
But now, I won’t treat this remnant the same way I did before, says the Lord of hosts.
But now I {will} not {be} unto the residue of this people as in the former days, saith the LORD of hosts.
The seed is gonna prosper; the vine will yield fruit, the land will bless us, and the heavens will shower that dew; I’ll make the remnant own all this.
For the seed {shall be} prosperous; the vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these {things}. {prosperous: Heb. of peace}
It’ll be like, you were a curse before, but now I’m saving you, House of Judah and Israel; don’t trip, just stay strong.
And it shall come to pass, {that} as ye were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing: fear not, {but} let your hands be strong.
The Lord of hosts says, "I thought about dishing out punishment when your ancestors got me mad, but I didn’t go through with it."
For thus saith the LORD of hosts; As I thought to punish you, when your fathers provoked me to wrath, saith the LORD of hosts, and I repented not:
Now I’m thinking of blessing Jerusalem and Judah these days: so just chill.
So again have I thought in these days to do well unto Jerusalem and to the house of Judah: fear ye not.
Here’s the vibe: Speak truth to your neighbor; keep it real with justice and peace at your gates.
These {are} the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates: {execute...: Heb. judge truth, and the judgment of peace}
Don’t let anyone scheme evil in their hearts against their neighbor; no false oaths, ‘cause all that is sus to me, says the Lord.
And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these {are things} that I hate, saith the LORD.
The word from the Lord of hosts dropped on me again, saying,
And the word of the LORD of hosts came unto me, saying,
The Lord of hosts is like, "The fasts in the fourth, fifth, seventh, and tenth months will turn into joy and feasts for the House of Judah; so love truth and peace."
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The fast of the fourth {month}, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Judah joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts; therefore love the truth and peace. {feasts: or, solemn, or, set times}
The Lord of hosts says, "People are gonna show up, and there’ll be peeps from various cities."
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; {It shall} yet {come to pass}, that there shall come people, and the inhabitants of many cities:
Folks from one city will roll to another, saying, "Let’s bounce to pray before the Lord; I’m down to vibe too."
And the inhabitants of one {city} shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to pray before the LORD, and to seek the LORD of hosts: I will go also. {speedily: or, continually: Heb. going} {to pray...: Heb. to intreat the face of}
For real, a lot of people and strong nations will come to seek the Lord of hosts in Jerusalem and pray before Him.
Yea, many people and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the LORD. {to pray...: Heb. to intreat the face of}
The Lord of hosts says, "In those days, ten guys from all languages will grab hold of a Jew’s skirt, saying, 'We’re rolling with you, ‘cause we heard God’s with you.'"
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; In those days {it shall come to pass}, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard {that} God {is} with you.
