Titus Chapter 1
Paul, the ultimate hype man for God and an apostle of Jesus, vibing with the faith of the chosen ones and keeping it 100 with the truth that’s all about godliness;
Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;
Clinging to the hope of eternal life, which God, who never fakes, promised ages before the universe dropped;
In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; {In: or, For}
But in the right moment, He flexed His message through preaching, which I’m totally into, just like God our Savior directed me to;
But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;
To Titus, my guy who’s got that shared faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and our homie Jesus Christ, our Savior.
To Titus, {mine} own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, {and} peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.
That’s why I bounced you to Crete, to get everything on lock and establish some elders in every city, just like I told you;
For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee: {wanting: or, left undone}
If anyone’s above reproach, a one-woman dude, with kids who are chill and not acting up;
If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.
A bishop needs to be above reproach, like God’s steward; no selfish energy, not quick to lose it, no wine guzzling, and definitely not about that cash chase;
For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;
But he should be all about hospitality, good folks, sober, just, holy, and keeping it on the level;
But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate; {men: or, things}
Clinging to the faithful word as he was taught, so he can pump up the truth and school the doubters;
Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers. {as...: or, in teaching}
There are hella unruly and empty talkers and deceivers, especially from the circumcised crew;
For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:
Gotta silence them, they’re flipping whole households upside down, teaching nonsense they shouldn’t just for that paper;
Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.
One of them, a prophet from their squad, said, 'The Cretans are always lying, wild beasts, and lazy.'
One of themselves, {even} a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians {are} alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.
This tea is real. So, call them out hard, so they can get right with the faith;
This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;
Don’t vibe with Jewish myths and man-made rules that stray from the truth.
Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.
For the pure, everything’s pure; but for those who are tainted and don’t believe, nothing’s pure; even their minds and consciences are sus.
Unto the pure all things {are} pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving {is} nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
They act like they know God; but their actions tell a different story, being savage, disobedient, and totally not about good works.
They profess that they know God; but in works they deny {him}, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate. {reprobate: or, void of judgment}
