Song of Solomon Chapter 8
For real, if you were my sibling, I'd be all in on that family love! When I catch you out and about, I'm definitely giving you a kiss; no cap, I wouldn’t even trip.
O that thou {wert} as my brother, that sucked the breasts of my mother! {when} I should find thee without, I would kiss thee; yea, I should not be despised. {I should not...: Heb. they should not despise me}
I’d bring you to my mom’s spot, where she’d drop some knowledge: we’d vibe over spiced wine and pomegranate juice, fr.
I would lead thee, {and} bring thee into my mother's house, {who} would instruct me: I would cause thee to drink of spiced wine of the juice of my pomegranate.
His left hand’s resting under my head, and his right hand’s got me all wrapped up, it’s a whole mood.
His left hand {should be} under my head, and his right hand should embrace me.
Listen up, daughters of Jerusalem, don’t wake my dude until he’s ready to pop off.
I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, that ye stir not up, nor awake {my} love, until he please. {that...: Heb. why should ye stir up, or, why, etc}
Who’s this coming out from the wilderness, leaning on her man? I brought you up under the apple tree, where your mom brought you into this world, no cap.
Who {is} this that cometh up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved? I raised thee up under the apple tree: there thy mother brought thee forth: there she brought thee forth {that} bare thee.
Set me as a seal on your heart and your arm: love’s as fierce as death; jealousy’s wild like the grave, with flames that hit different.
Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love {is} strong as death; jealousy {is} cruel as the grave: the coals thereof {are} coals of fire, {which hath a} most vehement flame. {cruel: Heb. hard}
No amount of water can snuff out love, and floods can’t drown it: if a guy gave everything for love, it’d still be a no from me.
Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if {a} man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned.
We got a little sis who’s still not grown: what do we do for her when someone’s trying to claim her?
We have a little sister, and she hath no breasts: what shall we do for our sister in the day when she shall be spoken for?
If she’s a wall, we’ll hook her up with silver bling; if she’s a door, we’ll wrap her in cedar vibes.
If she {be} a wall, we will build upon her a palace of silver: and if she {be} a door, we will inclose her with boards of cedar.
I’m a wall, and my vibes are like towers: I was lowkey favored in his sight.
I {am} a wall, and my breasts like towers: then was I in his eyes as one that found favour. {favour: Heb. peace}
Solomon had a dope vineyard at Baal-hamon; he leased it out to people, and they were all about that thousand pieces of silver.
Solomon had a vineyard at Baalhamon; he let out the vineyard unto keepers; every one for the fruit thereof was to bring a thousand {pieces} of silver.
My vineyard’s all mine, right here in front of me: you, Solomon, gotta drop a thousand, and those holding the fruit, two hundred.
My vineyard, which {is} mine, {is} before me: thou, O Solomon, {must have} a thousand, and those that keep the fruit thereof two hundred.
You chilling in the gardens, your crew’s catching your vibe: let me hear that fire.
Thou that dwellest in the gardens, the companions hearken to thy voice: cause me to hear {it}.
Rush over, my love, and be like a young deer on the spice mountains, it’s about to be bussin’.
Make haste, my beloved, and be thou like to a roe or to a young hart upon the mountains of spices. {Make...: Heb. Flee away}
