Psalms Chapter 90
For real, God has been our crib since forever.
[A Prayer of Moses the man of God.] Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. {A Prayer...: or, A Prayer, being a Psalm of Moses} {in...: Heb. in generation and generation}
Way before the mountains existed, and before Earth was even crafted, you’ve always been God, no cap.
Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou {art} God.
You turn humans back to dust; then you’re like, “Yo, come back, squad.”
Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.
A thousand years for you is just like yesterday or a quick night watch, vibe check.
For a thousand years in thy sight {are but} as yesterday when it is past, and {as} a watch in the night. {when...: or, when he hath passed them}
You sweep them away like a flood; they’re like a dream: in the morning, they sprout like grass.
Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are {as} a sleep: in the morning {they are} like grass {which} groweth up. {groweth...: or, is changed}
In the morning it’s poppin’, but by evening it’s cut down and wilting, savage.
In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth.
We’re totally wrecked by your anger; your wrath has us stressed, no cap.
For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled.
You’ve laid our messes right in front of you; our hidden sins are revealed in your light.
Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret {sins} in the light of thy countenance.
All our days are gone under your wrath; we spend our years like a story that gets told.
For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale {that is told}. {passed...: Heb. turned away} {as a...: or, as a meditation}
Our time here is like 70 years; if we’re lucky, maybe 80, but even then it’s just struggle and pain before we bounce.
The days of our years {are} threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength {they be} fourscore years, yet {is} their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. {The days...: Heb. As for the days of our years, in them are seventy years}
Who even knows how intense your anger is? Your fear is legit, and so is your wrath, periodt.
Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, {so is} thy wrath.
So show us how to number our days, so we can get our hearts aligned with wisdom.
So teach {us} to number our days, that we may apply {our} hearts unto wisdom. {apply: Heb. cause to come}
Come back, God, how long we gotta chill? Change your mind about your people.
Return, O LORD, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants.
Fill us with your mercy early on, so we can vibe and be happy all our days.
O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
Make us feel joy like the days you’ve put us through trials, and the years we’ve faced tough times.
Make us glad according to the days {wherein} thou hast afflicted us, {and} the years {wherein} we have seen evil.
Show your work to your squad, and let your glory shine on their kids.
Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children.
Let the beauty of our God be on us; establish the deeds of our hands, for real.
And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.
