Psalms Chapter 56
Ayo, vibe with me, God: these folks are out here trying to take me down; they’re on my case every single day, no cap.
[To the chief Musician upon Jonathelemrechokim, Michtam of David, when the Philistines took him in Gath.] Be merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppresseth me. {Michtam...: or, A golden Psalm of David}
My haters stay grinding to bring me down: there’s a whole squad of them, O Most High.
Mine enemies would daily swallow {me} up: for {they be} many that fight against me, O thou most High. {enemies: Heb. observers}
Whenever I’m feeling shook, I’ll lean on you, fr.
What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.
I’m all about hyping up God’s word; I put my trust in Him; ain't worried about what people can throw at me.
In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.
Daily, they be twisting my words: all their energy is sus and aimed at me.
Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts {are} against me for evil.
They’re sneaky, lurking in the dark, peeping my moves, just waiting for that perfect chance to strike.
They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul.
Think they can pull off their shady tactics? Nah, God, you gotta show them what's real.
Shall they escape by iniquity? in {thine} anger cast down the people, O God.
You see my struggles: catch my tears in your bottle; aren’t they noted in your book?
Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: {are they} not in thy book?
When I cry out to you, my foes bounce back: I’m sure of it; God’s got my back.
When I cry {unto thee}, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God {is} for me.
I’m here to rep God’s word: I’ll praise the Lord’s message.
In God will I praise {his} word: in the LORD will I praise {his} word.
I trust in God: I won’t be shook by what humans can dish out on me.
In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.
Your promises are on me, God: I’m ready to give you mad praise.
Thy vows {are} upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.
You rescued my soul from death: will you keep my feet from stumbling, so I can walk in the light with you?
For thou hast delivered my soul from death: {wilt} not {thou deliver} my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?
