Psalms Chapter 41
Straight up, blessed are those who connect with the needy; the Lord’s got their support when things get rough.
[To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.] Blessed {is} he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. {the poor: or, the weak, or, sick} {in time...: Heb. in the day of evil}
The Lord will keep them living and thriving; they’ll catch blessings on this planet, and their foes can't mess with them, no cap.
The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; {and} he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies. {thou...: or, do not thou deliver}
When they’re feeling low, the Lord's gonna boost them; He’ll ensure their bed's all good even if they’re sick.
The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness. {make: Heb. turn}
I was like, "Lord, show me some mercy; heal my spirit 'cause I slipped up."
I said, LORD, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.
My haters are spreading mad rumors, asking when I’m gonna kick the bucket and ghost.
Mine enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish?
When they roll through to see me, it’s just chitchat; their hearts are shady, and when they dip, they gossip hard.
And if he come to see {me}, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; {when} he goeth abroad, he telleth {it}.
All my haters are whispering about me, scheming my downfall like some real savages.
All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt. {my...: Heb. evil to me}
They claim I’m hit with a nasty illness: now that I'm down, I ain’t bouncing back.
An evil disease, {say they}, cleaveth fast unto him: and {now} that he lieth he shall rise up no more. {An...: Heb. A thing of Belial}
Even my day-one, the one I trusted who ate with me, has flipped on me, which is just sus.
Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up {his} heel against me. {mine...: Heb. the man of my peace} {lifted...: Heb. magnified}
But you, Lord, show me mercy and lift me up so I can get even.
But thou, O LORD, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.
I know you’ve got my back 'cause my enemy ain’t taking me down, periodt.
By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.
You keep me standing tall, and I’m always in your presence, fr.
And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever.
Shout out to the Lord God of Israel from now until forever. Amen, and amen.
Blessed {be} the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.
