Psalms Chapter 18
I'm all about that love for you, God, you’re my power source, no cap.
[To the chief Musician, {A Psalm} of David, the servant of the LORD, who spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day {that} the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul: And he said,] I will love thee, O LORD, my strength.
God’s my rock, my fortress, and my ride-or-die; my God, my strength, trust level 100; my shield and my high tower vibes.
The LORD {is} my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, {and} my high tower. {my strength: Heb. my rock}
I’m reaching out to the Lord, 'cause He deserves all the hype; I’ll be saved from my haters, periodt.
I will call upon the LORD, {who is worthy} to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
Death had me feeling some type of way, and the floods of shady peeps had me all shook.
The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid. {ungodly men: Heb. Belial}
The struggles of the abyss surrounded me; death’s traps had me locked down.
The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me. {sorrows: or, cords}
During my tough times, I called on the Lord and cried out to my God; He heard me from His crib, like, "Yo, listen up!"
In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, {even} into his ears.
Then the earth was like, "Whoa," and shook; even the hills were vibing hard ‘cause He was mad.
Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth.
Smoke was coming out of His nostrils, and fire from His mouth was like, "Bussin"; coals got lit because of it.
There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it. {out of his nostrils: Heb. by his, etc}
He pulled a flex, bending the heavens and coming down; darkness was underneath His kicks.
He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness {was} under his feet.
He hopped on a cherub and took off; fr, he was soaring on the wind's wings.
And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind.
He made darkness his secret hangout; his vibe zone was surrounded by dark waters and thick clouds.
He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him {were} dark waters {and} thick clouds of the skies.
When he flexed his brightness, those thick clouds bounced out, and hail stones plus fire coals got lit.
At the brightness {that was} before him his thick clouds passed, hail {stones} and coals of fire.
The Lord was out here thundering in the heavens, and the Highest dropped his voice; hail stones and fire coals were wild.
The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail {stones} and coals of fire.
For real, he sent out his arrows and scattered the haters; he shot lightnings and made them bounce.
Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and discomfited them.
Then the water channels popped up, and the world’s foundations were exposed at your rebuke, O Lord, at the blast of your breath.
Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.
He came down from above, scooped me up, and pulled me outta deep water.
He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters. {many: or, great}
He rescued me from my strong enemy and those who were sus; they were way too strong for me.
He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me.
They tried to block me during my tough times, but the Lord was my support.
They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.
He brought me into a wide space; he saved me ‘cause he was vibin' with me.
He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.
The Lord came through for me based on my righteousness; he hooked me up according to how clean my hands were.
The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.
I’ve been keeping it real with the Lord, no cap, didn’t dip from my God like a savage.
For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.
I had all His rules on lock, never tossed His statutes aside, periodt.
For all his judgments {were} before me, and I did not put away his statutes from me.
I was straight-up righteous in His eyes, kept my vibe clean from sin.
I was also upright before him, and I kept myself from mine iniquity. {before: Heb. with}
So the Lord’s been blessing me for my solid choices, my hands are clean, fr.
Therefore hath the LORD recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight. {in...: Heb. before his eyes}
With the chill folks, You show mad mercy; with the real ones, You keep it real too.
With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful; with an upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright;
You stay pure with the pure; but with the shady, You keep it shady, no cap.
With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself froward. {shew thyself froward: or, wrestle}
You save those in need, but you’re gonna humble the prideful vibes.
For thou wilt save the afflicted people; but wilt bring down high looks.
You light up my path; my God’s gonna shine through my darkness, lit.
For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness. {candle: or, lamp}
With You, I’m running through squads, and with my God, I’m hopping walls like a boss.
For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall. {run...: or, broken}
God’s way is straight fire; His word is legit; He’s the shield for all who trust Him.
{As for} God, his way {is} perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he {is} a buckler to all those that trust in him. {tried: or, refined}
Who even is God but the Lord? Like, who’s got more rizz than our God?
For who {is} God save the LORD? or who {is} a rock save our God?
It’s God who gives me strength, making my path all perfect and stuff.
{It is} God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.
He’s got my feet feeling like a deer’s, lifting me to those high vibes.
He maketh my feet like hinds' {feet}, and setteth me upon my high places.
He’s teaching my hands to fight; like I can snap steel bows with my arms, no cap.
He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.
You blessed me with the shield of your salvation; your right hand lifts me up, and your chill vibe makes me great.
Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great. {thy gentleness...: or, with thy meekness thou hast multiplied me}
You’ve made my steps solid so I won’t slip, fr.
Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip. {my feet: Heb. mine ankles}
I chased down my enemies and caught them; didn’t even turn back until they were done.
I have pursued mine enemies, and overtaken them: neither did I turn again till they were consumed.
I hit them so hard they couldn't get up; they’re fully down under my feet.
I have wounded them that they were not able to rise: they are fallen under my feet.
You’ve given me strength for battle; you’ve taken down those who tried to come at me.
For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me. {subdued: Heb. caused to bow}
You’ve handed me the necks of my enemies so I can wipe out those who hate me.
Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies; that I might destroy them that hate me.
They were crying for help, but no one was there to save them, not even the Lord, and He was totally silent.
They cried, but {there was} none to save {them: even} unto the LORD, but he answered them not.
I wrecked them like dust in the wind, just tossed them out like trash on the streets.
Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind: I did cast them out as the dirt in the streets.
You saved me from all the drama with the people; now I’m the boss of the nations, and folks I don’t even know are gonna serve me.
Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; {and} thou hast made me the head of the heathen: a people {whom} I have not known shall serve me.
As soon as they catch wind of me, they’re gonna obey; the outsiders will totally submit to me.
As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me. {As soon...: Heb. At the hearing of the ear} {submit...: or, yield feigned obedience} {strangers: Heb. sons of the stranger}
The outsiders are gonna fade away, scared out of their hiding spots.
The strangers shall fade away, and be afraid out of their close places. {strangers: Heb. sons of the stranger}
The Lord is alive; blessed be my rock; let the God who saves me be praised, fr.
The LORD liveth; and blessed {be} my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.
It’s God who’s got my back and keeps the people in check under me.
{It is} God that avengeth me, and subdueth the people under me. {avengeth: Heb. giveth avengements for} {subdueth: or, destroyeth}
He saves me from my enemies; you lift me higher than those who come at me; you’ve rescued me from the savage dude.
He delivereth me from mine enemies: yea, thou liftest me up above those that rise up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man. {violent...: Heb. man of violence}
So I’m gonna thank you, Lord, in front of the nations and sing your praises, periodt.
Therefore will I give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and sing praises unto thy name. {give...: or, confess}
He gives major deliverance to His king and shows mad mercy to His anointed, to David and his fam forever.
Great deliverance giveth he to his king; and sheweth mercy to his anointed, to David, and to his seed for evermore.
