Psalms Chapter 140
Ayo, Lord, rescue me from the bad energy and keep me away from those who be wildin';
[To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.] Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man; {violent...: Heb. man of violences}
They be scheming chaos in their minds, always ready to scrap.
Which imagine mischiefs in {their} heart; continually are they gathered together {for} war.
Their tongues are sharper than a snake's fangs; they got that venom hiding under their lips. Selah.
They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison {is} under their lips. Selah.
Keep me guarded, Lord, from the wicked's hold; they tryna mess with my flow.
Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.
The arrogant set up traps for me, casting nets in the shadows; that’s mad sus. Selah.
The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.
I said to the Lord, "You’re my God, so peep my pleas, fam."
I said unto the LORD, Thou {art} my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD.
Yo God, my strength and protector, you’re my ride or die in the heat of the fight.
O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.
Don’t let the desires of the wicked come to life, Lord; don’t let them flex too hard. Selah.
Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; {lest} they exalt themselves. Selah. {lest...: or, let them not be exalted}
For those surrounding me, let their own words entangle them.
{As for} the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.
Let them catch flames, thrown into the fire, into deep holes where they can’t escape.
Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.
Don’t let the evil talkers flourish on this earth; bad energy gonna hunt down the violent ones.
Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow {him}. {an...: or, an evil speaker (Heb. a man of tongue), a wicked man of violence, be established in the earth: let him be hunted to his overthrow}
I know the Lord’s got the oppressed covered and will defend the needy.
I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, {and} the right of the poor.
For real, the righteous are gonna vibe and give props to your name; the chill ones will dwell in your presence.
Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.
