Proverbs Chapter 9
Wisdom's got her whole aesthetic on lock, crafted her crib with seven lit pillars.
Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:
She’s totally whipped up her feast, blended her wine, and set the table like a pro.
She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table. {her beasts: Heb. her killing}
From the highest points in the city, she’s hollering at the crew, like, "Yo, slide through!"
She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city,
If you’re just chilling, roll up here: she’s got the gems for those in the know.
Whoso {is} simple, let him turn in hither: {as for} him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
Come snack on my bread and sip this fire wine I whipped up, it’s straight fire.
Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine {which} I have mingled.
Leave behind the foolishness and live your best life; chase that wisdom vibe, fr.
Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.
Calling out a hater? You’re just inviting drama; avoid the wicked, it’s sus.
He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked {man getteth} himself a blot.
Don’t waste your time on a hater, they’ll just throw shade; but wise folks will vibe with the truth.
Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.
Teach a wise person, and they’ll elevate; school a just individual, and they’ll keep blossoming, no cap.
Give {instruction} to a wise {man}, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just {man}, and he will increase in learning.
Reverence for the Lord is where wisdom begins; understanding the divine is straight-up insight.
The fear of the LORD {is} the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy {is} understanding.
With me, your days are about to pop off, and your life years will shine bright.
For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.
If you’re wise, that’s your game; but if you’re a hater, you’ll handle that on your own.
If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but {if} thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear {it}.
A foolish chick is loud and lost, just vibing with zero knowledge.
A foolish woman {is} clamorous: {she is} simple, and knoweth nothing.
She’s posted at her front door, just hanging at the high spots of the city.
For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,
Calling out to those cruising by, like, "Yo, come this way!"
To call passengers who go right on their ways:
If you’re simple, roll up here: she’s got the scoop for those looking to learn.
Whoso {is} simple, let him turn in hither: and {as for} him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
Stolen vibes are sweet, and secret snacks are on another level, fr.
Stolen waters are sweet, and bread {eaten} in secret is pleasant. {eaten...: Heb. of secrecies}
But they don’t realize the dead are there; her guests are deep in some dark vibes.
But he knoweth not that the dead {are} there; {and that} her guests {are} in the depths of hell.
