Mark Chapter 7
The Pharisees and some scribes pulled up on Him from Jerusalem, no cap.
Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem.
They peeped some of His crew munching bread with dirty hands and were like, "Sus."
And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault. {defiled: or, common}
The Pharisees and all the Jews won’t eat unless they scrub their hands first, keeping it classic.
For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash {their} hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders. {oft: or, diligently: in the original, with the fist: Theophylact, up to the elbow}
When they come back from the market, they gotta wash up, or they're toast. They have a whole list of rules, like washing cups and pots.
And {when they come} from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, {as} the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables. {pots: sextarius is about a pint and an half} {tables: or, beds}
So the Pharisees and scribes were like, "Why doesn’t your crew follow the old traditions and eat with clean hands?"
Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?
He hit them with, "Isaiah was totally right about you fakes; you honor me with your words, but your hearts are way off."
He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with {their} lips, but their heart is far from me.
They’re just vibing in vain, teaching human rules instead of the real deal.
Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching {for} doctrines the commandments of men.
You ditch God’s commandments to cling onto your own traditions, like washing pots and cups, and it’s kinda wild.
For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, {as} the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
He said, "You’re acing the art of rejecting God’s rules to hold onto your own traditions, fr."
And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition. {reject: or, frustrate}
Moses said, "Respect your parents," and if you diss them, you're out for real.
For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:
But y'all say, if a dude tells his fam, "It's Corban," meaning a gift, he can just bounce.
And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;
And you let him dip on doing anything for his parents; that's sus.
Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
You're making God's word useless with your traditions, which you’ve passed down; that’s just savage.
And when he had called all the people {unto him}, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one {of you}, and understand:
Then he gathered everyone around and said, "Listen up, fam, and get this."
There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.
Nothing outside a dude can mess him up; it’s what comes out that’s the real tea.
If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
If you got ears, fam, you better pay attention.
And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.
When he got back indoors, his crew asked him about the parable, like, "What’s good?"
And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, {it} cannot defile him;
He was like, "Y’all still not getting it? Anything that comes from the outside can't mess you up."
Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?
It doesn’t hit the heart, just the stomach, and then it exits, cleaning out all the food.
And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.
He said, "What comes out of a man, that’s what messes him up."
For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
From deep inside, straight from the heart, come all these sus thoughts, cheating, hookups, and even murders, fr.
Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: {covetousness...: Gr. covetousnesses, wickednesses}
Thievery, jealousy, wicked vibes, deceit, wild behavior, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, and just plain foolishness:
All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
All these bad vibes come from within and totally mess up a person.
And from thence he arose, and went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered into an house, and would have no man know {it}: but he could not be hid.
Then he bounced to the borders of Tyre and Sidon, hit up a crib, and wanted to keep it low-key, but he couldn’t stay hidden.
For a {certain} woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet:
A woman, whose young daughter had a nasty spirit, heard about him and came to him, falling at his feet like, "Help me!"
The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter. {Greek: or, Gentile}
She was Greek, a Syrophenician, and she was begging him to kick that devil out of her daughter.
But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast {it} unto the dogs.
But Jesus was like, "Chill, let the kids eat first; it ain't right to take their bread and throw it to the dogs."
And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs.
She replied, "For sure, Lord: but even the dogs under the table get to munch on the kids' crumbs."
And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter.
He said, "Because of that reply, you can bounce; the devil's outta your daughter."
And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.
When she got home, she found the devil gone and her daughter chilling on the bed, all good.
And again, departing from the coasts of Tyre and Sidon, he came unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis.
So he dipped out from Tyre and Sidon, cruised to the sea of Galilee, hitting up the Decapolis vibes.
And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him.
They brought a dude who couldn’t hear and had some speech issues, begging him to lay hands and fix it.
And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;
He pulled him aside from the crowd, stuck his fingers in his ears, spat, and touched his tongue; that's some wild stuff.
And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.
He looked up to heaven, sighed, and said, “Ephphatha,” which means, “Open up!”
And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.
Right away, his ears popped open, his tongue was free, and he started talking like a champ.
And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published {it};
He told them to keep it on the down-low, but the more he said that, the more they spread the word; no cap.
And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.
They were shook, saying, “He’s done everything fire: making the deaf hear and the mute speak, fr.”
