Leviticus Chapter 24
So the Lord was like to Moses, saying,
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Hit up the crew of Israel to bring some lit olive oil, like, the premium kind, to keep the lamps glowing non-stop.
Command the children of Israel, that they bring unto thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamps to burn continually. {to cause: Heb. to cause to ascend}
Aaron's gotta keep it fresh in the tabernacle, from dusk till dawn, no cap; it’s a forever vibe for the fam.
Without the vail of the testimony, in the tabernacle of the congregation, shall Aaron order it from the evening unto the morning before the LORD continually: {it shall be} a statute for ever in your generations.
He’s gotta keep those lamps lit on the pure candlestick in front of the Lord, always.
He shall order the lamps upon the pure candlestick before the LORD continually.
Snag some top-notch flour and whip up twelve cakes: two tenths for each cake, no joke.
And thou shalt take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes thereof: two tenth deals shall be in one cake.
Arrange them in two stacks, six in each, on the pure table before the Lord, fr.
And thou shalt set them in two rows, six on a row, upon the pure table before the LORD.
Sprinkle pure frankincense over each stack, making it a fire memorial offering to the Lord.
And thou shalt put pure frankincense upon {each} row, that it may be on the bread for a memorial, {even} an offering made by fire unto the LORD.
Every sabbath, he’s gotta set it up before the Lord, taken from the kids of Israel by a never-ending promise.
Every sabbath he shall set it in order before the LORD continually, {being taken} from the children of Israel by an everlasting covenant.
It’s for Aaron and his sons; they’ll be eating it in the holy spot, 'cause it’s super sacred from the Lord’s fire offerings.
And it shall be Aaron's and his sons'; and they shall eat it in the holy place: for it {is} most holy unto him of the offerings of the LORD made by fire by a perpetual statute.
A dude whose mom was Israelite and dad was Egyptian stepped out with the crew, and he and an Israelite had some drama in the camp.
And the son of an Israelitish woman, whose father {was} an Egyptian, went out among the children of Israel: and this son of the Israelitish {woman} and a man of Israel strove together in the camp;
The Israelite’s kid dissed the Lord’s name and cursed. They brought him to Moses: (his mom was Shelomith, daughter of Dibri from the tribe of Dan).
And the Israelitish woman's son blasphemed the name {of the LORD}, and cursed. And they brought him unto Moses: (and his mother's name {was} Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan:)
They locked him up so the Lord could show them what’s good.
And they put him in ward, that the mind of the LORD might be shewed them. {that...: Heb. to expound unto them according to the mouth of the LORD}
Then the Lord hit up Moses again, saying,
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Bring out the one who cursed outside the camp; let everyone who heard him lay hands on him, and the whole squad should stone him.
Bring forth him that hath cursed without the camp; and let all that heard {him} lay their hands upon his head, and let all the congregation stone him.
Tell the crew of Israel, if anyone curses their God, they gotta handle their sin.
And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, Whosoever curseth his God shall bear his sin.
If someone disses the Lord’s name, they’re getting the death penalty, and the whole crew's stoning them, whether they’re a local or an outsider.
And he that blasphemeth the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death, {and} all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name {of the LORD}, shall be put to death.
If you take a life, you’re definitely facing the death sentence, no cap.
And he that killeth any man shall surely be put to death. {killeth...: Heb. smiteth the life of a man}
If you take out a beast, you gotta make it right; beast for beast, that’s the way it goes.
And he that killeth a beast shall make it good; beast for beast. {beast for...: Heb. life for life}
If someone messes with their neighbor, whatever they did, that’s what’s gonna come back to them.
And if a man cause a blemish in his neighbour; as he hath done, so shall it be done to him;
Breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; if you cause a blemish, it’s gotta come back to you, periodt.
Breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: as he hath caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be done to him {again}.
If you take out a beast, you gotta replace it; if you take a life, you’re getting the death sentence.
And he that killeth a beast, he shall restore it: and he that killeth a man, he shall be put to death.
You all gotta have the same law, for the outsider and your own peeps: 'cause I’m the Lord your God.
Ye shall have one manner of law, as well for the stranger, as for one of your own country: for I {am} the LORD your God.
And Moses told the crew of Israel to bring out the one who cursed from the camp and stone him. And they did just what the Lord told Moses.
And Moses spake to the children of Israel, that they should bring forth him that had cursed out of the camp, and stone him with stones. And the children of Israel did as the LORD commanded Moses.
