Joshua Chapter 6
Jericho was completely sealed off because of the Israelites: no one was rolling in or out, fr.
Now Jericho was straitly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in. {was...: Heb. did shut up, and was shut up}
So the Lord was like to Joshua, "Listen up, I got your back. Jericho and its king are yours, no cap."
And the LORD said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, {and} the mighty men of valour.
"Y'all are gonna circle the city, all the soldiers, and do it once every day for six days. Bet."
And ye shall compass the city, all {ye} men of war, {and} go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days.
"On day seven, seven priests will carry seven trumpets, and you'll circle the city seven times while they blow those horns."
And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams' horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets.
"When they blast that ram's horn and the trumpet blares, everyone needs to shout super loud, and the city's walls will just fall down. Then everyone can roll in."
And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long {blast} with the ram's horn, {and} when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him. {flat: Heb. under it}
Joshua gathered the priests and said, "Take the ark of the covenant, and seven of you carry those trumpets in front of the Lord's ark."
And Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said unto them, Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the LORD.
"Yo, folks, move out and circle the city. Let the armed peeps go ahead of the Lord's ark."
And he said unto the people, Pass on, and compass the city, and let him that is armed pass on before the ark of the LORD.
When Joshua gave the word, the seven priests with the trumpets led the way in front of the Lord, blowing those trumpets, and the ark followed them.
And it came to pass, when Joshua had spoken unto the people, that the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams' horns passed on before the LORD, and blew with the trumpets: and the ark of the covenant of the LORD followed them.
The armed squad went before the priests blasting the trumpets, while the rear guard followed the ark, priests still vibing on those horns.
And the armed men went before the priests that blew with the trumpets, and the rereward came after the ark, {the priests} going on, and blowing with the trumpets. {rereward: Heb. gathering host}
Joshua told the crew, "No shouting or noise until I give the signal; then you can pop off."
And Joshua had commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not shout, nor make any noise with your voice, neither shall {any} word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I bid you shout; then shall ye shout. {any noise...: Heb. your voice to be heard}
The ark of the Lord did a full lap around the city, then they just kicked it at camp. Vibes.
So the ark of the LORD compassed the city, going about {it} once: and they came into the camp, and lodged in the camp.
Joshua got up early, and the priests grabbed the ark like it was nothing. Lit.
And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the LORD.
Seven priests with rams' horns were blowing those trumpets non-stop, while the squad moved out in front. Rizz on point.
And seven priests bearing seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the LORD went on continually, and blew with the trumpets: and the armed men went before them; but the rereward came after the ark of the LORD, {the priests} going on, and blowing with the trumpets.
They did another lap around the city on the second day and then headed back to camp. Just six days of this grind.
And the second day they compassed the city once, and returned into the camp: so they did six days.
On day seven, they got up at dawn and circled the city seven times. It was a whole affair.
And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early about the dawning of the day, and compassed the city after the same manner seven times: only on that day they compassed the city seven times.
After the seventh lap, when the priests blasted those trumpets, Joshua told the crew to shout; God was handing them the city. Periodt.
And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the LORD hath given you the city.
The city is off-limits for everyone except Rahab and her crew since she helped our messengers. Savage.
And the city shall be accursed, {even} it, and all that {are} therein, to the LORD: only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that {are} with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent. {accursed: or, devoted}
But yo, stay clear of the cursed stuff, or you’ll bring bad vibes on the camp of Israel. No cap.
And ye, in any wise keep {yourselves} from the accursed thing, lest ye make {yourselves} accursed, when ye take of the accursed thing, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it. {accursed: or, devoted} {a curse: or, devoted}
All the silver, gold, and metal gear? That’s all for the Lord; it’s going straight to the treasure. Bussin’.
But all the silver, and gold, and vessels of brass and iron, {are} consecrated unto the LORD: they shall come into the treasury of the LORD. {consecrated: Heb. holiness}
When the priests blew the trumpets, the people shouted, and the walls just came crashing down. They rushed in and took the city like it was easy. Goated.
So the people shouted when {the priests} blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city. {flat: Heb. under it}
They straight-up wiped out everyone in the city, like no cap, all the people and animals got wrecked with the sword.
And they utterly destroyed all that {was} in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword.
But Joshua was like to the two homies who peeped the place, "Slide into the harlot’s crib and grab her and all her stuff, just like we promised."
But Joshua had said unto the two men that had spied out the country, Go into the harlot's house, and bring out thence the woman, and all that she hath, as ye sware unto her.
So the young spies went in, rescued Rahab, her fam, and all her crew; they got everyone and left them chillin' outside the Israel camp.
And the young men that were spies went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that she had; and they brought out all her kindred, and left them without the camp of Israel. {kindred: Heb. families}
Then they torched the city and everything in it; only the silver, gold, and metal stuff got stored in the Lord's treasury.
And they burnt the city with fire, and all that {was} therein: only the silver, and the gold, and the vessels of brass and of iron, they put into the treasury of the house of the LORD.
Joshua kept Rahab the harlot and her fam alive, and she’s still reppin' in Israel today 'cause she hid the messengers Joshua sent to check out Jericho.
And Joshua saved Rahab the harlot alive, and her father's household, and all that she had; and she dwelleth in Israel {even} unto this day; because she hid the messengers, which Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.
Joshua was like, "Yo, if anyone tries to rebuild Jericho, they’re cursed; they’ll lose their firstborn and youngest to set up the gates."
And Joshua adjured {them} at that time, saying, Cursed {be} the man before the LORD, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: he shall lay the foundation thereof in his firstborn, and in his youngest {son} shall he set up the gates of it.
So the Lord was vibin' with Joshua, and his rep was spreading all over the place.
So the LORD was with Joshua; and his fame was {noised} throughout all the country.
