Jonah Chapter 3

So the word of the Lord came back to Jonah, saying,

Get up, roll out to Nineveh, that lit city, and drop the message I told you to share.

Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.

So Jonah dipped and headed to Nineveh, just as the Lord instructed. Nineveh was a huge city, like a three-day journey.

So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days' journey. {exceeding: Heb. of God}

After a day’s walk, Jonah started to enter the city and yelled, "In forty days, Nineveh's gonna be toast."

And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.

The Ninevites were feeling the vibe from God, called for a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the big shots to the rookies.

So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.

The news reached the king of Nineveh, who hopped off his throne, tossed his robe, put on sackcloth, and sat in ashes.

For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered {him} with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.

He announced all over Nineveh, by the king’s decree, saying, "No one, not even the animals, should eat or drink water."

And he caused {it} to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water: {published: Heb. said} {nobles: Heb. great men}

But everyone, whether human or beast, should wear sackcloth and earnestly cry out to God; they need to ditch their bad vibes and the chaos they’re causing.

But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that {is} in their hands.

Who knows if God will chill and switch it up, backing off from His fierce anger so we don’t catch the heat?

And God saw how they changed their ways, ditching their bad vibes; God flipped the script on the plan He had to mess with them, and He didn’t go through with it.
