John Chapter 7
So after all that, Jesus was chilling in Galilee since he wasn’t about to vibe with the Jews who wanted him out.
After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him.
The feast of tabernacles for the Jews was on its way, no cap.
Now the Jews' feast of tabernacles was at hand.
His brothers were like, "Yo, you should head to Judea so your crew can check out the lit things you're doing."
His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest.
If you're doing it big, you wouldn’t hide in the shadows. Show up to the world, periodt.
For {there is} no man {that} doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, shew thyself to the world.
But for real, his brothers were sus and didn’t have faith in him, fr.
For neither did his brethren believe in him.
Jesus replied, "My time hasn’t come yet, but y’all are always ready to pop off whenever."
Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready.
The world can’t throw shade at you; it’s me they can’t vibe with, ‘cause I’m calling out its shady moves.
The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.
You go up to the feast; I’m just chilling for now since my time isn’t fully here yet.
Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast; for my time is not yet full come.
After saying that, he stayed in Galilee, just vibing.
When he had said these words unto them, he abode {still} in Galilee.
But once his bros dipped, he also went to the feast, low-key, like it was a secret mission.
But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.
The Jews were on the lookout for him at the feast, asking, "Where’s he at?"
Then the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he?
There was a lot of buzz in the crowd about him: some said, "He’s a solid dude," while others said, "Nah, he’s just playing us."
And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people.
Yet, no one wanted to spill the tea about him 'cause they were scared of the Jews.
Howbeit no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews.
In the middle of the feast, Jesus showed up at the temple and started teaching.
Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.
The Jews were shook, saying, "How does this guy know all this without even hitting the books?"
And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned? {letters: or, learning}
Jesus replied, saying, "My vibe ain't from me; it’s from the one who sent me."
Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
If anyone's down to do his will, they’ll figure out if the doctrine is from God or just me.
If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or {whether} I speak of myself.
The one who talks about themselves is just chasing clout, but the one who’s about the glory of the one who sent him is the real deal, no cap.
He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.
Didn’t Moses give you the law, and yet none of you are following it? Why y’all tryna take me down?
Did not Moses give you the law, and {yet} none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?
The crowd clapped back, "You got a demon! Who’s out to get you?"
The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil: who goeth about to kill thee?
Jesus was like, "I did one sick thing, and y’all are shook over it."
Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel.
Moses gave you the whole circumcision deal; it wasn’t his idea, but it came from the OGs; so you still do it on the Sabbath, right?
Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man.
If y’all keep doing circumcision on the Sabbath to follow the law, why are you mad at me for making a dude fully whole on the Sabbath?
If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day? {that...: or, without breaking the law of Moses}
Don't judge based on looks, fam; judge with that righteous vibe.
Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
Some peeps in Jerusalem were like, "Isn’t this the dude they wanna cap?"
Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he, whom they seek to kill?
But for real, he’s speaking with mad confidence, and they ain’t saying a word. Do the leaders know this is the real deal Christ?
But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing unto him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ?
We know where this guy is from, but when the Christ shows up, no one knows where he’s from.
Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is.
Then Jesus popped off in the temple, saying, "Y’all know me and where I’m from; I’m not here on my own, but the one who sent me is legit, and you don’t know him."
Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.
But I know him, ‘cause I came from him, and he sent me.
But I know him: for I am from him, and he hath sent me.
They tried to grab him, but no one could touch him, ‘cause his time wasn’t up yet.
Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come.
Mad people were vibing with him, saying, "When Christ shows up, he’s gotta pop off harder than this dude, right?"
And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this {man} hath done?
The Pharisees caught wind of the crowd's tea and sent their squad to scoop him up.
The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him.
Jesus was like, "I’m only around for a hot minute, then I’m out to the one who sent me."
Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and {then} I go unto him that sent me.
"You’ll be searching for me, but I’m ghosting: where I’m at, you can’t roll up."
Ye shall seek me, and shall not find {me}: and where I am, {thither} ye cannot come.
The Jews were like, "Where's he gonna dip to that we can’t find him? Is he hitting the Gentiles to teach them?"
Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles? {Gentiles: or, Greeks}
"What’s up with this dude saying we’ll seek him and can’t find him? Where he at, we can’t come?"
What {manner of} saying is this that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find {me}: and where I am, {thither} ye cannot come?
On the last day of the feast, Jesus stood up and called out, "If anyone’s thirsty, come through and drink!"
In the last day, that great {day} of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
"Whoever vibes with me, like the scripture says, will have rivers of living water flowing from within."
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
(But he was referring to the Spirit, which those who believe in him would receive: the Holy Ghost wasn’t dropped yet since Jesus hadn’t been glorified.)
(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet {given}; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
So a bunch of people, after hearing this, were like, "For real, this guy is the Prophet."
Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet.
Some were like, "This is the Christ," but others were sus, questioning if the Christ could really come from Galilee.
Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee?
Didn’t the scripture say that Christ comes from David's fam and is born in Bethlehem, where David repped?
Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?
There was some serious drama among the people because of him.
So there was a division among the people because of him.
Some wanted to grab him, but no one laid a hand on him, fr.
And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him.
The officers rolled up to the chief priests and Pharisees, asking, "Why didn’t you bring him?"
Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him?
The officers responded, "No cap, no one talks like this dude."
The officers answered, Never man spake like this man.
The Pharisees shot back, "Y’all got played too?"
Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived?
Have any of the big shots or Pharisees actually believed in him?
Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him?
But this crowd that doesn’t know the law? Straight cursed.
But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed.
Nicodemus was like, "Yo, I'm one of them, and I came to Jesus at night."
Nicodemus saith unto them, (he that came to Jesus by night, being one of them,) {to Jesus: Gr. to him}
So like, does our law judge someone without hearing them out first? No cap.
Doth our law judge {any} man, before it hear him, and know what he doeth?
They responded, "Yo, you from Galilee too? Bet, check it: no prophet comes from there."
They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.
And then everyone just bounced to their own crib.
And every man went unto his own house.
