Job Chapter 40
So the Lord came through to Job and was like,
Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said,
Who’s bold enough to challenge the Almighty? If you got issues with God, then spill the tea.
Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct {him}? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.
Then Job responded, "Aight, Lord, hear me out,"
Then Job answered the LORD, and said,
I’m feeling super lowkey; what’s my response? I’m just gonna keep it on mute.
Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.
I’ve spoke once, but I won’t say more; no cap, I’m finished.
Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.
Then the Lord dropped some wisdom on Job from the storm, saying,
Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
Get ready like a champ: I got questions for you, so let’s vibe.
Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
You think you can flip my judgment? You think you’re right and I’m a little sus?
Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?
Can you flex like God? Can you drop thunder with your voice?
Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?
Deck yourself out in majesty and lit energy; show off your glory and style.
Deck thyself now {with} majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.
Unleash that rage and check all the proud; bring ‘em down a peg.
Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one {that is} proud, and abase him.
Peep the prideful and humble them; crush the wicked where they stand.
Look on every one {that is} proud, {and} bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.
Bury them in the dirt and keep their faces hidden.
Hide them in the dust together; {and} bind their faces in secret.
Then I’ll acknowledge that your own right hand can save you.
Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.
Check out behemoth, the one I crafted with you; he munches on grass like a cow.
Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox. {behemoth: probably an extinct animal of some kind}
For real, his strength comes from his core, and his power’s in his stomach.
Lo now, his strength {is} in his loins, and his force {is} in the navel of his belly.
He swings his tail like a cedar; his sinews are all bundled up.
He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together. {He...: or, He setteth up}
His bones are tough as brass; they’re solid like iron bars.
His bones {are as} strong pieces of brass; his bones {are} like bars of iron.
He’s the GOAT of God’s creations; the one who made him can make him flex.
He {is} the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach {unto him}.
The mountains feed him, where all the wild beasts hang.
Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
He chills under the leafy trees, in the reeds and marshes.
He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.
The trees give him shade; the willows by the brook are always down for him.
The shady trees cover him {with} their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.
Look, he sips rivers and doesn’t rush; he thinks he can slam down Jordan.
Behold, he drinketh up a river, {and} hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth. {he drinketh up: Heb. he oppresseth}
He’s got his eyes on it; his nose sniffs out all the traps.
He taketh it with his eyes: {his} nose pierceth through snares. {He...: or, Will any take him in his sight, or, bore his nose with a gin?}
