Job Chapter 4
So Eliphaz the Temanite came through and was like,
Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,
If we’re gonna vibe and chat, you mad? But fr, who can keep it chill?
{If} we assay to commune with thee, wilt thou be grieved? but who can withhold himself from speaking? {to...: Heb. a word} {withhold...: Heb. refrain from words?}
Yo, you’ve dropped knowledge on so many and lifted the low-key struggling folks.
Behold, thou hast instructed many, and thou hast strengthened the weak hands.
Your words have been clutch for those feeling low, and you’ve held up the weak vibes.
Thy words have upholden him that was falling, and thou hast strengthened the feeble knees.
But now it’s hitting you hard, and you’re stressed out; it’s got you feeling some type of way.
But now it is come upon thee, and thou faintest; it toucheth thee, and thou art troubled.
Isn’t this your dread, your faith, your aspirations, and your whole vibe?
{Is} not {this} thy fear, thy confidence, thy hope, and the uprightness of thy ways?
Just think about it, who’s ever taken a fall when they were innocent? Where the good ones at when they get cut off?
Remember, I pray thee, who {ever} perished, being innocent? or where were the righteous cut off?
From what I’ve peeped, those who spread bad vibes get that energy right back.
Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same.
They get wrecked by God’s power, and His breath just cleans them out.
By the blast of God they perish, and by the breath of his nostrils are they consumed. {by the breath...: that is, by his anger}
The lion’s roar, the fierce lion’s shout, and the young lions’ teeth are all shattered.
The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, and the teeth of the young lions, are broken.
The old lion’s out here starving, while the strong cubs are spread out.
The old lion perisheth for lack of prey, and the stout lion's whelps are scattered abroad.
A secret got dropped on me, and I caught a whiff of it.
Now a thing was secretly brought to me, and mine ear received a little thereof. {secretly: Heb. by stealth}
When night falls and deep sleep rolls in, I was trippin’ on wild thoughts.
In thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falleth on men,
Fear hit me outta nowhere, and I was shaking like a leaf in the wind.
Fear came upon me, and trembling, which made all my bones to shake. {came...: Heb. met} {all: Heb. the multitude of}
Then a spirit glided past my face; my skin was on high alert.
Then a spirit passed before my face; the hair of my flesh stood up:
It was chillin’, but I couldn’t peep what it was: just a vibe in front of me, and I caught a voice saying,
It stood still, but I could not discern the form thereof: an image {was} before mine eyes, {there was} silence, and I heard a voice, {saying}, {there...: or, I heard a still voice}
Can a human be more righteous than God? Can a dude be cleaner than his maker?
Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his maker?
For real, He don’t even trust His angels; He calls them out on their mess ups.
Behold, he put no trust in his servants; and his angels he charged with folly: {and his...: or, nor in his angels, in whom he put light}
How much less for those living in clay homes, built on dust, crushed like nothing?
How much less {in} them that dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation {is} in the dust, {which} are crushed before the moth?
They’re done from sunrise to sunset: they fade out without anyone clocking it.
They are destroyed from morning to evening: they perish for ever without any regarding {it}. {destroyed: Heb. beaten in pieces}
Doesn’t their greatness just drop? They vanish, and it’s all without wisdom.
Doth not their excellency {which is} in them go away? they die, even without wisdom.
