Job Chapter 35
So Elihu was like, "Ayo, check this out!"
Elihu spake moreover, and said,
You really think it's a flex to claim your game is better than God's?
Thinkest thou this to be right, {that} thou saidst, My righteousness {is} more than God's?
You be thinking, "What’s in it for me?" and, "What do I score if I switch it up?"
For thou saidst, What advantage will it be unto thee? {and}, What profit shall I have, {if I be cleansed} from my sin? {if...: or, by it more than by my sin}
Got the scoop for you and your squad, no cap.
I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee. {answer...: Heb. return to thee words}
Just peep the sky, fam; those clouds are mad high.
Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds {which} are higher than thou.
If you slip up, what’s that gonna change for Him? If you pile on sins, how does that even affect Him?
If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or {if} thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him?
If you’re all about that righteousness, what are you even contributing? What’s He getting from you?
If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receiveth he of thine hand?
Your bad vibes might mess with another human, but your good vibes could lift them up too.
Thy wickedness {may hurt} a man as thou {art}; and thy righteousness {may profit} the son of man.
When folks are getting crushed, they holler; they’re crying 'cause the powerful are showing off.
By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make {the oppressed} to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.
But nobody's asking, "Where’s God, my creator, who drops fire in the darkness?"
But none saith, Where {is} God my maker, who giveth songs in the night;
He teaches us more than beasts and gives us more smarts than birds.
Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?
They’re out here crying, but no one's listening ’cause the wicked are full of pride.
There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men.
For real, God ain’t about the fake noise, and the Almighty isn’t down with that.
Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it.
Even if you claim you can’t spot Him, judgment’s still a thing; so just trust Him, periodt.
Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, {yet} judgment {is} before him; therefore trust thou in him.
But now, since it’s not like that, He’s bringing the heat; but He knows it’s not a big deal.
But now, because {it is} not {so}, he hath visited in his anger; yet he knoweth {it} not in great extremity: {he hath: that is, God hath} {he knoweth: that is, Job knoweth}
So Job’s chatting outta line; he’s just tossing around words with no clue.
Therefore doth Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplieth words without knowledge.
