Job Chapter 14
A dude born from a lady has a vibe that's super brief and filled with chaos, no cap.
Man {that is} born of a woman {is} of few days, and full of trouble. {few...: Heb. short of days}
He blossoms like a flower, then gets snipped; he drifts like a shadow, and that's just how it goes.
He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not.
You really about to come at me like that and drag me to court, fam?
And dost thou open thine eyes upon such an one, and bringest me into judgment with thee?
Who can pull something pure from something messy? Nobody, fr.
Who can bring a clean {thing} out of an unclean? not one. {can...: Heb. will give}
His days are locked down, you know the count of his months, and you set boundaries he can't exceed;
Seeing his days {are} determined, the number of his months {are} with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass;
Just let him vibe till he wraps up his hustle, like a hired worker.
Turn from him, that he may rest, till he shall accomplish, as an hireling, his day. {rest: Heb. cease}
But there’s a chance for a tree; if it gets chopped, it can bounce back and sprout again, no cap.
For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.
Even if the roots get old in the soil and the trunk fades away;
Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground;
It can still sprout from the scent of water and grow branches like a plant.
{Yet} through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.
But when a dude dies, he just slips away; he gives up his spirit, and then what’s next?
But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where {is} he? {wasteth...: Heb. is weakened, or, cut off}
Just like the waters pull back from the sea and the flood recedes;
{As} the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decayeth and drieth up:
So man lays down and doesn’t get back up; until the skies are no more, he won’t wake or rise from his slumber.
So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens {be} no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep.
Oh, if you could just stash me in the grave and keep me low-key till your anger chills, then remember me!
O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me!
If someone dies, can he come back to life? I’ll be waiting all my days till my glow-up hits.
If a man die, shall he live {again}? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.
You’ll call, and I’ll respond; you got serious love for your creations.
Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands.
For now, you’re tallying my steps; you see my slip-ups, right?
For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin?
My wrongs are locked up tight, and you’re patching up my mistakes.
My transgression {is} sealed up in a bag, and thou sewest up mine iniquity.
And for real, when a mountain tumbles, it’s game over, and the rock gets shifted.
And surely the mountain falling cometh to nought, and the rock is removed out of his place. {cometh...: Heb. fadeth}
The waters grind down the stones; you wash away what rises from the earth’s dust, and you crush man’s dreams.
The waters wear the stones: thou washest away the things which grow {out} of the dust of the earth; and thou destroyest the hope of man. {washest...: Heb. overflowest}
You keep winning against him, and he just fades; you switch his vibe and send him on his way.
Thou prevailest for ever against him, and he passeth: thou changest his countenance, and sendest him away.
His kids get all the shine, but he’s completely oblivious; they get low, but he doesn't even peep.
His sons come to honour, and he knoweth {it} not; and they are brought low, but he perceiveth {it} not of them.
But his body feels the struggle, and his soul is out here grieving.
But his flesh upon him shall have pain, and his soul within him shall mourn.
